Circus World

2009-2018

Milwaukee’s final Great Circus Parade took place in 2009, marking the end of an era for circus fans throughout the country. Circus World’s United States bandwagon received national exposure with appearances at numerous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades between 2011 and 2014, and a new local tradition began in 2013 with the first Baraboo Big Top Parade. Scott O’Donnell returned to Baraboo that fall, this time to fill the position of Circus World’s Executive Director. The following year marked the return of the big top tent to Circus World after an eight-year absence, and 2016 brought tigers back to the site for the first time in over a decade. Circus World continued to evolve in 2018 when operational control of the site transferred from the Circus World Museum Foundation to the Wisconsin Historical Society.

It was always amazing to see our animal friends perform in the Center Ring!

Thank you for saving it! I thought when the museum shut down that was the end of it. I will be going there!
