We acquired a 1996 Ford Explorer for $1.00 Dollar recently. This SUV was about to be scrapped. But we convinced the yard owner we would purchase the car from him to try to make it roadworthy again. But of course, this Explorer had parts missing seeing it was in a salvage yard for the longest time. It needed a starter, alternator, radiator, belts, hoses, and all tires were deflated

So to keep the cost down, we obtained used reliable parts and repaired the tires since it still has 75% tread on them Now it runs like a champ like it was new off the dealership and is our daily vehicle.

@Neon Wraith Hahaha. Thank you Joe. We were driving along past the salvage yard and I happen to see it in the corner gate. Glad that your wife had a couple as well. Was it the 2nd generation Explorers like this one?
      3. Neon Wraith

She had a first gen, a second gen, and I had a third gen.  Great vehicles, but they lost me when they went to unibody construction.

    • I think Alpha is going to be an arcade stick with a cartridge port. It will work as a standalone unit that takes controllers for other players. It's what makes the most sense given that we know it takes controllers. Given how expensive the Egret II Mini is I don't think that Blaze is going to make something like that, but I wouldn't mind being wrong.
    • I'll just leave this here.... take from it what you will.   😬
    • A spryly young 60 yrs of age, I got my 1st Atari 800 when I was a kid living on 79th Street off Columbus Ave in New York City. I still remember staring out the window painfully waiting for the UPS truck to deliver the goods. I've recently moved to Lake Waukomis, MO.
    • This was a 4D chess move so I can't search for their FCC certs via Intellivision anymore. Don't worry though according to tinfoil hat wearing AI losers with conspiracy theories of the FCC site lying about them passing certs, to only listen to a random and not very specific thing an engineer said about them passing preliminary stuff when the reality is there is no preliminary tests to move forward but an all or none passing.... they are good! To be fair. In recent Amico history, now is the best chance these pigeons have of getting something made. Obviously, if Atari was smart and didn't overpay they still don't have enough to manufacture.   So we might have to be a little more patient. It is probably going to take them until December 32nd (not a typo) to realize they aren't being made this year. 10x more money for him and his two sons.   I am glad to hear that people are finally realizing that him and the others are just as bad as Tommy.      Unless Atari overpaid, I'd predict, at best, they say they almost have enough to manufacture controllers. HOWEVER, they are going to have to crowdfund the "remaining difference" to make it happen. Then they crowdfund the controllers and if it fails blame the fans for lack of interest.   Or they could be jerks and say to reserve your spot for a controller you have to forfeit the rest of your refund to be placed in line so they have hard numbers. Then close shop, then fail the crowdfunding, and go to Sweden and play backgammon.
    • Lesson 2 - XOR and XEOR   Instead of Hex to Decimal conversion, we need to finish up the bitwise operators. This lesson will be simple. I have created a single Basic program to create the machine language strings for all 3 bitwise operators, XAND, XOR and XEOR. When you run the program, it will create a new file on your disk called XFUN.LST which can be included into another program, using the ENTER command, to use the machine language functions.   Usage: Here's how to use the new functions in your own programs: NEWVALUE=USR(XAND,VALUE1,VALUE2) NEWVALUE=USR(XOR,VALUE1,VALUE2) NEWVALUE=USR(XEOR,VALUE1,VALUE2)   Enjoy!   XFUN.BAS 1 REM SAVE "D:XFUN.BAS 900 ? :? • I've seen a few people mention problems having to do with this very thing, where they've flashed the firmware of a device, then when using the same computer the flashing of a different device fails. I've also seen it mentioned that deleting the drivers used for flashing the previous device prior to flashing the new one resolves the issue, but that can be a bit of pain, as you've got to know exactly which driver(s) you're purging, and that can be tricky when it's not actively being used.
