Boudro's embraces our regional heritage with a distinctive slant on Texas and southwestern flavors. Slip into the pace of San Antonio with one of our Prickly Pear Margaritas or a Texas Dry Beefeater Martini while your server prepares fresh guacamole tableside. Sample any one of our seafood offerings fresh from the Texas Coast, such as our Chile-Seared Gulf Jumbo Shrimp, or opt for Blackened Prime Rib or Mesquite-Grilled Texas Quail. Our House-Smoked Shrimp and Gulf Crab Enchiladas are topped with Guajillo sauce and white Cheddar and served with black beans and spicy tomato pancakes. End your meal with Louisiana Bread Pudding, heavy on the whiskey sauce, or Toasted Nut Brittle Ice Cream perched in a pool of hot fudge. Based on availability, parties of 1 to 20 can feast while cruising around the river bend on a Rio San Antonio barge (Call in advance for barge reservations.).

Had the seafood enchiladas. Delicious. 30$. Not bad given the prices on the Riverwalk. Also the food quantity was good. I'm sure we're all tired of going to these fancy art food places that let you leave hungry. that's a sin in my book especially if you're in the hospitality industryas a profession.
Service was excellent and the ambience is really good inside and out. It's on a bustling part of the Riverwalk.
Con: they brought me some diced Serranos but really no option to add heat. Which is ridiculous for a Mexican restaurant. Still, the food had adequate spice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Spicy P.Houston, TX02481595May 27, 2024
It's busy. If it's a busy time on the Riverwalk (weekends, holidays) you'll need reservations.
Service as good as it could be for our group of eight (we did have reservations) on a busy holiday weekend.
Ambiance? Right on the Riverwalk so no more needs to be said.
The shrimp and grits were divine.
The chips on the guacamole appetizer looked like store brand Walmart chips. If you are from South Texas and you use store made HEB chips, don't bother.
We had a lovely night though. Still five stars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rob K.Mishawaka, IN253717May 26, 2024
Food: Oh wow! Succulent! American cuisine specializing in Texas Gulf Coast seafood. I had salad and drum fish. Salad tasted like it was fresh picked. Drum was perfectly flavored and almost melted in my mouth.
Service: Accommodating, prompt and polite
Ambience: Cozy interior with big windows. Alfresco dining under umbrellas on the Riverwalk.

Boudro's was a fun experience. This restaurant is one of the nicer ones on the river walk with a wide range of options including seafood, steak, and even grits. The service was good and tableside guacamole was a delicious with a slight hint of citrus. For dessert, I opted for the bread pudding which was different than any other I've ordered. It had less cinnamon and a little lemon which made it perfect for the hot summer day. Overall, this dimly lit restaurant is great for intimate groups, but more difficult for large parties.

The experience my husband and I had here was wonderful from start to finish! We got to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance of the Riverwalk :) Jessica, our waitress was FANTASTIC and I would tell anyone going to this restaurant to ask for her!
If I was to recommend items, I would say definitely go for the tableside guacamole, even if you're not a fan of guacamole. I don't care for avacados, tomatoes or onions and I actually enjoyed theirs! I'm gonna try my hand at it at home and see if I can replicate it
Another item I would say splurge for is the blackened prime rib. It's roasted and grilled, which gives a melt in your mouth experience
Definitely make reservations though, they are quite busy and book up quick!!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 7, 2024
We had lunch here and was able to get patio seating. Not right next to the river, but the patio area, which still had an amazing view of the river walk.
This place definitely tried to maximize their seating. Tables and seats were very close to each other.
We ordered the salmon and the highly recommended shrimp and grits. I'm normally picky on shrimp and grits, but a friend highly recommended it, so I decided to give it a try. You will not regret it! It was packed with cajun flavors, shrimps were a good size, and grits were perfectly cooked like smooth mashed potatoes.
The salmon was cooked with cajun flavors and came with a lemony cream sauce and mashed potatoes. The lemon cream sauce went well with the salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly moist, tender, and flakey. One of the best salmons I've ever had!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 12, 2024
Cute little restaurant on the riverwalk offering steak and seafood fair, with a few items catering to what Texas is known for: guacamole and margaritas.
Poised along the Riverwalk, the ambience is more or less on the touristy side, but inside there's plenty of seating with a unique atmosphere where the walls are adorn with old mirrors, varying in size and age.
We had good service, and our waitress was fast and kind.
Overall, I think this is a cute little stop along the Riverwalk, and they can probably accommodate a large party size, but you might have to wait, as this is a popular spot!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 170129Feb 25, 2024
This wonderful place to eat right on the curb of the San Antonio River walk.
We had a corporate board dinner for 14 and it was a simply amazing dining experience.
We started with delicious wines and cocktail drinks of everyone's taste. Then on to at least every one of the appetizers and more of some. The large Cajun seasoned braised scallops was a favorite. But the hen so were the fresh gulf shrimps or the fried oysters and everything else.
Then the n they more cooked cocktails and wine.
On to the entrees of steaks, chops, and seafoods.
More libations and a dessert to be including New Orleans Bread pudding with butter and bourbon sauce. Tarts, cheese cakes and other exquisite sweets.
To many wonderful things to list.
Great food, great drinks, good wines, great desserts, and top shelf service.
Wonderful dining and a serving the world pass by on the river walks and tourist tour barges.
We have a very diverse board from 9 regions and cuisines and all were extremely pleased with the experience!
I would highly recommend this stop in your culinary travel experiences.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 29, 2024
My husband discovered this place when doing research on hot spots on the river walk. He joined me when I was in San Antonio for a conference. He didn't have to convince me much when they were known for having one of the best guacamole. Well it didn't disappoint, the guacamole was indeed one of the best I ever had, well seasoned, packed with smokey flavor - addicting. The restaurant had a nice friendly atmosphere, despite being super crowded - service was decently quick.

Another wonderful evening with great service, a great view of the river, and delicious food. We began with the guacamole (only 1 avocado) suggested for two and the fried oysters on chips. Both were very good. Budros uses an orange juiced to make their guacamole a bit unique. The oysters were good, but not near as good as the similar dish we had at Acenar the night before.
For our entrees, the blackened drum with perfectly prepared vegetables was exceptional. The coconut shrimp was very good and the quail recieved rave reviews. The quail was a very large portion and perfectly cooked. The crab tostada was large and filling, but probably would not order it again. It was ok, but just not very memorable.
Dessert was very good but had hoped for the bread pudding - sold out. We settled for the double brownie with ice cream - very good, but we had enjoyed it on a previous visit.
If you have a table on the river, just be ready for the vendors trying to sell you something when your waiter is not around. I had 3 different ones disturb us during dinner. They left immediately when I waved them off luckily. Be sure and don't handle the bracelets or other merchandise or they will insist you give them cash. There are no free trinkets!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Nov 22, 2020Previous reviewDinner with an old college buddy and his girlfriend at Boudro's; billed as the best seafood and steaks in the city. Can't review the steaks, but the seafood we had lived up to the billing. We began with some guacamole and chips - very good, albeit a small portion to share for four. The waitress recommended herb crusted drum with mushrooms over couscous was phenomenal. For desert we sampled the double chocolate brownie. It was a tower of chocolate delight. I would have preferred two scoops of vanilla instead of one vanilla and one coffee ice cream, but still a great finish. Our waitress, Christina, was exceptional by the way. She was attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations. I should add we had a perfect table for four in front of the restaurant overlooking the river. Could not have been better.
