Happy World Orthodontics Health Day! Smiling is a universal language. We are happy to take a part in transforming the world, one smile at a time! To celebrate World Orthodontic Health Day today, the American Association of Orthodontists is drawing attention to policies that protect patients and expand access to orthodontic care. First proclaimed by the World Federation of Orthodontists in 2017, the day is an opportunity for orthodontists around the world to celebrate and highlight orthodontics. The AAO hopes consumers and lawmakers continue to learn about the importance of protections for patients from practices that reduce quality of care and safety while also supporting solutions for easing the burden of student loan debt and increasing access to quality orthodontic care. Join us now in letting Congress know that it is World Orthodontic Health Day and ask for their support for policies that give patients greater control of their healthcare decisions and spending through tools such as flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs). Specifically, the current $3,200 cap is an artificial limit and is too low compared to healthcare needs of most families and consumers. Furthermore, the current structure penalizes larger families by failing to take into account their increased healthcare costs for additional dependents. The AAO is working on policies that expand the cap to $5,000 and adjust for inflation each year, allow for an additional annual $500 per dependent after the first two dependents, and allow dollars in FSA accounts to roll over at the end of a year or to be rolled into an HSA account that already does allow annual roll over. Ask your Member of Congress today to support these types of policies so that orthodontic patients and their families can better manage rising healthcare costs and access orthodontic treatment. #PCSOrtho #KeepSmiling #worldorthodontichealthday

🌷 Happy Mother's Day from the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists! 🌷 Today, we celebrate not only the incredible role of mothers but also honor those who balance the demands of being both a mom and an orthodontist. To all our mother-members who inspire us daily by managing their practices and families with grace and dedication, we honor you. Special shoutout to the remarkable mom-and-daughter orthodontist duos in our community: Hillary and Marie Lathrop, pictured with Hillary's new baby boy, and Kelly Gianetti with her daughter Maya. Your journeys inspire us all! On this special day, we recognize your hard work, both in your clinics and homes. Thank you for your commitment to excellence and the care you provide.
