Decided to try a new place for Chinese food for lunch special. This place is 4 blocks further than wok 88 from me so I figured I'd see how good their competitors are.
The interior is very nice and the lady running the desk was very nice. However the Asian food was just average and imho not worth going back to try anything else. I did not try the sushi.
I got a ta-chin chicken and pepper steak. Both dishes were heavy on the veggies and just lacked any significant flavor. I did get an egg roll and it was prob the best part of the meal. The fried rice was better than most places too.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lei L.Manhattan, New York, NY1159Mar 27, 2022
I ordered Sautéed Chinese Broccoli Oysters sauce, Shredded Pork Garlic Sauce and Roasted Pork Tofu. In each picture, the left pic is what I saw from their website, the right one is what I get from their store. I have to say the flavor of all three dishes are totally off.
I just want exactly what shows on their website.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - R Q.Manhattan, NY0184Sep 9, 2020
This place used to be good but they've gone so downhill these last 4 years or so. I kept giving them a chance but after today, I'm officially done. Got some sushi rolls delivered and when I took a bite into the spicy tuna roll, I chomped down on a long, sharp hunk of bone. Sushi should not have bones in it! Sliced the roof of my mouth. I initially thought it was just a large strips of fatty tuna, but no, it was bone. Contacted the restaurant and they refused to reimburse or redeliver.
If that's their response to food that they obviously screwed up, I'd rather give my money to a restaurant that knows what they're doing. If you insist on ordering from there, make sure you ask for the boneless sushi.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 202142210Feb 7, 2019
My go to spot for sushi. They have lunch specials, 3 rolls sushi deals (regardless of the time of day), and a pretty diverse menu. They offer an array of food ranging from Thai to Chinese, as well as Japanese (sushi). I have only tried the sushi from here, and have been satisfied every time. The sushi is always fresh.

If there's one food I could eat forever, it would be sushi. And here, I felt like I could indulge forever.
I got the all you can eat sushi + 3 drinks option. It's around $33 dollars which is a GREAT deal for what you get (especially if you have a separate stomach that specializes in sushi aka eat a lot of it).
I got the following sushi:
Spider roll
Salmon sushi
Scallop sushi
Fresh salmon maki
Tiger roll
Butterfly roll
I came with a party of 20ish people and man did the food come out fast. For only two people making sushi, they were machines! I was impressed by both the speed and the quality of sushi. The menu had so many sushi types to choose from - I wanted to try all of them!!
The service was great - the person who took our order was super nice and came around to ask of anyone wanted to order more.
The setting is very causal.
Overall, great place for all you can eat sushi. If you can eat lots of sushi in one sitting, you definitely get a big bang for your buck.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrew B.Rye, NY102322Jun 6, 2021
If you are gay or have gay friends do not come here!! My boyfriend and I were coming here for a date night, only only table seated inside the rest of their restaurant completely empty. We asked to be seated for 2 they said they're only doing take out and said the people seated were waiting for food. We went next door and I went outside for a cigarette and see that same table eating with drinks. Now a second cigarette outside I see even more people are seated. Homophobic trash, do not come here if you love and respect gay people. I attached a photo of the people eating as proof.

Service: Delivery
Quantity: Good
Food: Sushi lunch special $11/ Two rolls lunch special $10.95
Wow! I'm surprised to see this restaurant has such bad reviews on Yelp. They have great reviews on Grubhub.
I ordered a sushi lunch special comes with 5 pieces of sushi and a California roll. For the two rolls lunch special, I picked Spicy salmon/Alaska roll.
Their fishes are very fresh with tasty sushi rice and speedy delivery. I love their spicy salmon without the crunchy bread crumbs, which all other sushi restaurants are adding this crunchy thing in spicy salmon and spicy tuna.
Chinatown restaurant is a great restaurant if you have not yet to try, and I will order more from them!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel L.New York, NY2951413May 5, 2019
My girlfriend and I walked by this restaurant a few weeks back and saw that they serve all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi. We've been to a few really good AYCE sushi spots in Los Angeles, but never in NYC, so naturally we were really excited to find this place. The deal is actually really good ($28 or $33 including a few beers), but as we discovered, it's too good to be true. We were already a bit skeptical at first given that the restaurant is called "Chinatown Restaurant" but serves Chinese, Thai, and Japanese food. Nevertheless, our craving for sushi one night superseded our logic and we decided to give this a shot.
The 2 star review really comes from our food experience for AYCE. Clearly this is not a sushi restaurant, so I didn't have high expectations, but this was below-par sushi in my opinion. If you purely want quantity, this may suffice (I'd personally choose just about anywhere else). Here were the main problems we had:
1) The rolls / sushi had way too much rice and I assume the restaurant does this intentionally to fill you up faster. But the amount of rice wasn't the only problem - the rice itself was not good. I had some rolls that had really cold, almost hardened rice. It basically tasted like leftover rice.
2) Some pieces of fish were alright, others were really unappetizing. For instance, the spicy salmon was neon-orange colored and had a slimy texture.
3) Other ingredients were proportionally off (in addition to the rice) - I had one roll that was flat out missing the avocado and another roll that had a tiny piece of shrimp inside but was filled with a ton of shredded cucumber
Many of the prior reviews talk about the terrible service. Fortunately for us, the service was fine - it wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't terrible either.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2021
This is my go to for my chicken lettuce wrap fix. They give plenty of lettuce wraps - enough for all of the filling. The hot and sour soup I ordered recently was also good. I removed one star because I ordered the pad Thai recently and I found it to be quite bland.

Why are you going here if it isn't for AYCE sushi? I always go with a group and get this with friends, sometimes with the beer and sake add-on where you essentially just keep getting pitchers of Japanese beer. For AYCE at a place called "Chinatown", the sushi is damn good. You can order special rolls, nigiri, and several other options.
The price is VERY good for the quality and amount of sushi you can get. The staff is always very kind and attentive. They even throw free appetizers your way to try to stuff you before you get to the sushi. Don't fall for it ;)
Because you can get specialty rolls, sometimes the sushi takes a while to come out. Make sure to order the next batch about halfway through your first round to keep things moving before you get full.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
