Better together

Welcome to Dublin, Georgia!

On November 2, 2021, I was elected Mayor of the City of Dublin by the people to fulfill the term of retired mayor Phil Best.  I believe a united community prospers together.

I was born in Dublin and attended Dublin City Schools, graduating from Dublin High School in 1992. I earned a history degree from the University of Georgia and then a JD from Harvard Law School. In my mid-twenties, I came back home and, with my wife Victoria, am raising my family (three boys, ages 6, 9, and 10) in a restored home a block from downtown. I've spent the last decade working on dozens of city projects, as leader of the Downtown Development Authority, Director of the Dublin-Laurens Land Bank, and volunteer on many boards. I led efforts to recruit Georgia Military College to Dublin, to tear down blighted homes, to restore the skyscraper, to establish Bicentennial Plaza & Jackson Plaza, to build the MLK Monument Park, to renovate Theatre Dublin. I have helped with projects large and small in every neighborhood. I helped start Visit Dublin GA and even served for a year as City Attorney. Along each step of my journey, our community worked together to accomplish big things and reinvigorate our beautiful small town.

Did you know that on April 17, 1944, fifteen year old Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his first public speech at First African Baptist Church?  Our community united to celebrate Dr. King's speech, and today you can experience a bit of King's journey to the mountaintop at Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument Park and at First African Baptist Church.
