I only recently came across Brown's Diner a few months back, but it has become a staple for me and my family since (I've been here 3 times in the last few weeks!). This is an unassuming diner with laid back vibes. You enter into the bar and are able to seat yourself. The staff are friendly but busy (well at least when we come for brunch)!

The first few times, I ordered the "Brown's Breakfast", a breakfast plate that includes 2 eggs your way (I got sunny side up and then scrambled), hash browns, choice of meat (I go with fried chicken), and the choice of toast/pancake/biscuit (you can't go wrong with the pancake or biscuit! I have a sweet tooth, so pancake for me!). Just a delicious breakfast! The hash browns are perfectly crispy and the pancakes fluffy (topped with honey butter and syrup!).

The third time around, I had to try the "Original Brown's Cheeseburger" as I had read that some consider it to be the best burger in Nashville. And I have to say, it's right up there. A solid, classic burger.

Overall, the food is so good especially for the price point. I will be going back again (my stomach is growling as I write this- maybe today!)

We originally intended to go to the pancake pantry, but the line was wrapped around the building so we tried this place- and we're glad we did!

They DO have pancakes- and VERY good ones at that. But they also have a lot more to choose from.

We started out with the southern poutine- fries smothered in sausage gravy with cheese. They were excellent.

Some of us had breakfast entrees- they serve breakfast all day. The pancakes were outstanding. The has browns cooked just how I like them, nice and crispy. The breakfast fried chicken was only so so, though- pretty dry.

I had the catfish plate, which comes with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. The catfish was good- but I didn't care for the slaw. The hush puppies were incredible, and came with honey butter. Yum!

If you can't decide, stick with the pancakes. They are probably the best I've ever had.

I'm not sure how it has the ratings it does. I mean, I'm from a very small southern town and we have our favorite spots, so maybe it's just the nostalgia, but the food was not good and the service was worse. Our server looked lost. He wandered around the place staring at tickets, leaving food to die in the window, and they weren't even that busy. We got a burger and tots which was fine. A chili dog which came with no chili, and tots. Both of which were cold when we got them. And a breakfast platter. The bacon was very old and basically cardboard and the hashbrowns and toast were cold as well.

We never got refills and after we were greeted, it took about 20 minutes for someone to come back to take our order. The sweet tea was watered down and not good. We sat it on the edge of the table indicating we wanted to replace it and they never came by or asked about it.

The only thing they were prompt about was taking our card. We laid it on the table (not near the edge) and a server randomly came by and took it, not asking if we were ready or bringing us a ticket at all. Just strange.

Definitely will not be back and will actively tell people not to waste their time. $54 for that on a slow Friday night? Wild.

Still one of the best cheeseburgers in Nashville!

There's something to be said about a place that doesn't change when we are losing so many historic and local restaurants in Nashville. You always know what you're getting at Brown's Diner, and it's such a comfortable feeling, like visiting with an old friend.

The friendly service is great, but the Cheeseburger is even better. With a fresh handmade patty, melted cheese, pickles, and a thick onion slice, this is an old-school burger that still works so well.

My go-to meal here is the cheeseburger with their homemade onion rings. Yum!

A great place to visit anytime.

One of the most unfriendly miserable bartenders I've met, her poor attitude, she looked very sloppy and definitely rude. Food was ok yet again her poor service I would never go back if she was present.

Great food and great service. Daphne is the best you never know who you will run into. This place is one of the few great old Nashville spots left.

If you're looking for a burger and chili- this is your place. Simple bar/restaurant style seating. Our server was excellent. Their menu is very basic but the food was good and the chili was great.
