Don's Tire Service

Always a great value!!' Fast friendly service without attempts to "over sell" you products or tires that don't fit your driving habits. Took my 90 YO mother's car in for tires and alignment and came out satisfied!! Saved $$& on the estimates she'd received.

My go to for tires, brakes and all wheel service!!!

Don's is the best. I live in West Oakland but it's always worth the drive, even thru rush hour traffic. I've gotten at least 2 sets of tires from them over the years and they are always super knowledgable and helpful. Yesterday I had a nail in my tire and they were able to see me in 1 hr to have it patched for only $35. The front desk staff are always super funny and personable. I never feel like anyone is trying to upsell me, just honest advice.

I brought my car in for a full tune up in February and they stated what needed to be done and that included an oil change and filters. Two weeks after my "oil change" my service light came on. When I called to confirm a actual oil change was done I was told "just reset your light" to which I had and it came back on, then I was told "there must be an error your car hasn't resigisterd the oil change we'll have to manually reset it" to which I replied that I've recieved an oil change before the indacator light came on and its never been a problem.

I finally took my car in for them to "correct" whatever the issue is and I was told my car had NO OIL and they said you car must be leaking oil, I'm no idiot I know when a car is leaking and mine infact was not! I was then told that they would do me a COURTESTY and put more oil in it. The NERVE, Yalll clearly changed the oil and NEVER put any in. The main job of the oil change replacing the oil.

To be told it was a COURTESTY after I already paid for the missing oil was a slap in the face. It has now been a month since I visually wateched and recorded them put oil in and guess what ...NO ISSUES! My light has never came back on.

easy to do business with, friendly front desk service. I really don't understand about the people that complain, it's almost like they went to a different shop. However, this thing about this place is that you can buy your tires and wheels from TireRack.com and, have them shipped to Dan's where they will be installed for you. you only pay Dan for the installation of the tire and wheels . This way you are assured of a fair price, a huge selection of product, and no high-pressure sales from Don's.

I couldn't be happier! I was able to come before work and get my tire patched from having a nail in it. The price was right and the service was wonderful. The joy of not having to fill the tire with air is worth every penny. I will definitely be back for any tire needs.

I'm giving them two stars vs one because they have a mobile unit that was fairly quick.
Used the service/business in May. Two new tires because I had a flat.

One of the tires just went flat. That happens. At another tire service. They asked if I wanted "another used tire". News to me! I was never told it was used and I paid full price for a new tire.
Not happy.

Don's repaired my flat tire, replaced my front and rear struts in a very responsive manner. The car rides great and I feel I was in the best hands. They will always be my garage for tires, struts, alignments. Friendly, fair and great customer service!

I continue to get fast/quality work on my tires- whether a full install or patch repair.

This review is a long time coming but today's events sparked me to finally write up a review.
Had a tire go almost flat up in Tilden park on a cold rainy day. I was able to get air in the tire using a Halo device. Got to downtown Berkeley, was turned away by Joe's tires, even though I purchased the set of tires there. Flat in a rain storm + previous customer, they didn't give a shit.
Go to Don's, they are very busy but understood my circumstances, take the car and fix the tire in one hour. Not only that, everyone who works there is very nice and have a great sense of humor.
Over the years I have had other flats fixed, alignments, new tires. Don's is simply the best and the customer service is top notch.
