Campground FAQs
Is the campground open year round?
Yes! The campground is open year round. However, the summer season is very busy and we recommend making reservations in advance.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made a year in advance of the day of your arrival.
Do you provide shuttles to the park for campground guests?
Yes! Based on host availability, we are able to shuttle campers during the summer season from the campground store to the Visitor Information Center from the hours of 9 am to 5 pm daily.
Do you allow dogs?
The campground is pet-friendly. We do ask that all dogs remain on leashes and that you do your duty after your pet does theirs. A dog park is located at the campground and is available for use to Kentucky Horse Park campground guests, horse show competitors, and park guests.
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations may be made on ReserveAmerica.com. If you do not have Internet access, you may place a reservation by calling Reserve America at (888) 4KY-PARK or (888) 459-7275. Groups of 20 or more, please call (859) 259-4257 or (800) 370-6416. Maximum stay is 14 days unless approved by Campground management. Check in time is 2:00 p.m. Check out time is 12:00 noon. All guests are required to check in at the Campground store upon arrival before going to their site.

Western Dreamer was foaled on April 25, 1994 at Kentuckiana Farm in Kentucky. In 1997, Dreamer won the Pacing Triple Crown and Harness Horse of the Year. He is the only gelding of any breed to win a Triple Crown and was the first gelding to win Pacingโs Triple Crown. In July 2001, Dreamer came to the Kentucky Horse Park`s Hall of Champions.
Dreamer`s sweet personality makes a lasting impression on guests. He LOVES the attention! Don`t be surprised if he "knocks" on his door if you haven`t stopped by his stall to see him!

Custom Made, known to many as "Tailor", is the first eventing horse to be laid to rest at the Memorial Walk of Champions by the Hall of Champions Barn. Tailor is also the only horse buried there that once competed at the Kentucky Horse Park! The Memorial Walk of Champions is the final resting place for some of the most famous equine athletes and we are honored to add Custom Made to that list.

๐๐๐ Last night we posthumously inducted legendary eventing horse and Olympic gold medalist, Custom Made, into the Hall of Champions. Custom Made, known to many as "Tailor", is the first eventing horse to be laid to rest at the Memorial Walk of Champions by the Hall of Champions Barn. Tailor is also the only horse buried there that once competed at the Kentucky Horse Park! Foaled in 2000 at Brittany Farms in KY, Muscles became one of only two Standardbreds to make $1 million in two non-consecutive seasons. He retired as the richest active trotter with earnings of more than $4 million. He was inducted into the Living Horse Hall of Fame at the National Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in 2017. Happy Birthday Mr. Muscleman!

The Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event takes over the Kentucky Horse Park from Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28. If you plan to visit KHP during these dates you must purchase admission to the event.
All ticket sales are transacted during Defender event and will take place at general admission ticket locations. No tickets will be sold at the KHP Visitor Center.

๐ด๐ฅณ We`re kicking off another week of Hall of Champions Birthday celebrations with another new HOC addition! Two-Time Breedersโ Cup Sprint Winner, Roy H, is celebrating his 12th birthday today!
Roy is owned by David. A Bernsen LLC and Rockingham Ranch and was trained by Peter Miller. His racing career had a slower start than normal. However, at five years old, he became the best sprinter in North America of his generation.
After going on to win the 2017 Breedersโ Cup Sprint, he was named the American Champion Sprint Horse at the Eclipse Award ceremonies. In 2018, he defended his title as the American Champion Sprint Horse and won the Breedersโ Cup Sprint once again by 3 1/4 lengths as the second favorite.
He retired from racing in 2019 as a seven-time stakes winner with $3,139,765 in earnings. He then worked as a barn pony for Peter Miller, who became his owner. Roy H joined the Hall of Champions in November 2023. Happy birthday, Roy!

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation has set up a Funny Cide Memorial Fund to honor his life. This fundraiser will enable the Park to commission a sculpture in keeping with the outstanding legacy Funny leaves behind.
