      Your brother is not a parent, therefore he can't get the 143 visa on his own merits.  It is a parent visa.  Your father was the applicant and as he is deceased, the application cannot proceed.  If you don't tell Immigration that he has died, you will be committing fraud.  To be honest, I'm not even sure if his 173 is still valid if the main visa holder is not living. I suggest contacting a MARA registered agent urgently to find out what his status is.

      Hi there, My dad and my younger brother were granted a subclass 173 visa in September 2023 and they arrived in Australia. Subsequently, we applied for subclass 143 in October 2023, and immigration requested AOS in April 2024, to which we promptly submitted the application. Unfortunately, my dad passed away on May 13th.  Now, we are faced with uncertainty regarding the pending application, especially concerning my younger brother who is 22 years old. We are seeking information on what will happen to their pending application. Will my brother's application be considered on its own merits? If anyone has experience or expertise in this matter, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.   Thank you.

      Looking for a long lost friend

      Hi I know this will be a long shot. I'm looking for and would like to make contact with an old friend, David Smith. He was born on 17 January 1967 in Beverley, Yorkshire, England; 57 years old now.  He used to live and work in Perth and Sydney in 1993 and the British Council and Josiah's in Hong Kong (where we met) in the early 90s. He told me at the time that he was trying to get a PR to stay in Australia but not sure whether he got it or not. He could well be living in Perth now, somewhere in AU or moved back to the UK altogether or elsewhere in the world. I'm just not too sure. I last saw him 30 years ago in January 1994 at the airport in Hong Kong seeing him off to the UK. Would very much appreciate it if anyone has any leads, knows him or possibly know whereabouts David is and could pass the message on. Would be great to be in touch and catch up with him again.
