Since my last review, FF&D has definitely upped their game. The studio has gotten a great renovation that makes great use of the space and looks airy and sunny.
The owner has gotten some help in running the studio, so no-shows seem to be a thing of the past. Classes seem to be fuller and the success of the studio is increasing. I appreciate the owner's attention to any issues, even though it can't be easy to run the whole she-bang herself. They keep adapting, so give it a chance.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 30, 2011Previous reviewI've been going to FF&D for about 8 months now. In my eyes, they started out with a bang--my first class was with a great, excited instructor who lent us some belly bling.
It's been up and down every since. I didn't enjoy Sydney's classes--she seemed pissed that she had to be there and was always late.
Bonnie is amazing though--I wish she taught more. She's happy and excited every minute--I've never sweat so hard in zumba before!
But now, the same thing keeps happening to me as a previous reviewer--I plan my day around a class that is on the schedule, only to take the bus and find no one there. They even have a new website that should allow for easy schedule changes, but they don't bother.
I'm going to move on and start going to Community Fitness, which is more consistent and professional. Sorry FF&D. - Kelly B.Seattle, WA301292Jan 19, 2012
My Groupon purchased introduced me to this cute little neighborhood workout spot and overall it's been a great experience! Bonnie and Dee's zumba classes were both terrific. Bonnie has a more structured zumba style, and Dee's was more of a dance party. Killer workout.
I also took Grant's hip hop class and he gets an A+ for skill and patience. I learned a choreographed dance number and loved it. My only bummer was that I didn't get much of a workout during his class. It really was instructional, not cardio.
The only real disappointment is the parking situation. Where on earth do you park? I parked in 1 hour parking on the street and got a ticket. The neighborhood parking is restricted to zones. Seriously. Where do you park.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I really love the classes here! I've been to some zumba and oula classes. I definitely recommend both! The instructors are what make this place - all of them have great energy!
The Oula classes in particular are really great and I'm definitely hooked! I appreciate how the instructors show you a few moves before we start dancing. Often she'll say things like if you have knee or shoulder issues use this modification. Like most dance classes, it's a little hard at first with all of the choreography, but it gets much easier if you stick with it. And it's such a fun way to work out, which for me is most important!
They just moved about 2 weeks ago. The new space is really nice, but small. The size of the studio isn't an issue for the dance space, but if you get there early there isn't a very good place to stand and wait indoors. So far everyone has been waiting outside, but I recommend getting there early only about 5 min early or exactly on time. There are very few parking spots, but there is more non-zoned street parking available compared to their previous location. It's also close enough to the post office, that you can just park there if its after hours (when I'm usually at class).
The prices are really reasonable if you get a membership - it costs less than a lot of gyms. They also offer discounts for students and teachers. Which makes this place a great value. I noticed a few old reviews that said that there was a class scheduled, but no one showed up. I haven't had any issues of those kind.
Bottom line, if you're thinking about trying this place out, do it! Try the Oula classes in particular!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sarah T.Los Angeles, CA1324Aug 13, 2012
I purchased a LivingSocial deal for Fresh Fitness and Dance, and after reviewing their schedule online attempted to attend a noon-1PM Zumba class. I arrived about 15mins early, only to find that the studio only opens 10mins prior to class starting, not a huge deal. So, I stood in the parking lot waiting.... 11:50 came and went, 11:55 came and went...... 12:00 came and went.... by the time I reached 12:10 my patience was far gone.
I called the number on the studio's website, and was sent straight to voicemail, and in addition to that -- the voicemail box, was full. So I could not even leave a message to inquire about the class and the online schedule.
Not sure if this was a fluke, but I don't plan to revisit this studio, and have already requested a refund from LivingSocial.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - J W.Seattle, WA09227Mar 13, 2012
I tried out zumba today with Michelle. She has some spunk and keeps you going, which is a plus for me.
The space is small but so was the class, which was nice. Its hard to find, its in a nook back behind a couple of buildings, definitely look for their signs!
Note:they do not unlock the front door til 10mins before a class. I think this is because their instructors only come to teach the class then they leave. So if you have questions its a good idea to call around a time a class might be begin or few minutes after.
I am excited to go back! I needed an affordable place to go to on this side of town.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Nice open air Studio! I saw some amazing demos at their grand opening party and signed up with Michael for a Salsa 1 series. It's really reasonably priced for such personal instruction. Michael is an amazing dancer. I leave every class wanting more.
Parking is is bit of a hassle.
Can't wait for Salsa 2.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley W.Seattle, WA181141Feb 28, 2013
The studio frequently has instructors not showing up for the classes with no notification for the clients.
it is my impression that the owner is in over her head.
I also found out from an acquaintance that multiple instructors had difficulty getting the company to pay the contractors on time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rachel L.Seattle, WA24251Mar 21, 2012
I love the Friday zumba class with Dee. It's always fun and high energy and the music is mostly a cut above your usual zumba class. Plus, she's actually familiar with the underlying dances that zumba borrows from (salsa, samba), which makes for a much more engaging and authentic experience. The drop-in price is great and the punch cards and membership prices are really a steal. I also love the light, airy space. Don't be fooled by the hidden-in-a-parking-lot-behind-a-restaurant exterior; it's really nice inside!

I attended the Grand Opening party tonight. While I cannot review the classes, most of the instructors were there doing performances. Great talent, great energy. I bought a membership on the spot!

I went there yesterday for the 1st time, and I loved the infrared sauna. I sweated so much, a bit like running a marathon in the middle of August, and yet I was just sitting there reading a magazine. It's a completely private room so you can wear as little as you want in there, and they also have a CD player and a bunch of essential oils you can use. Only minus: they don't have a shower. But it's a very nice space, I think I might join a dance class there.
