Spring 2024 Spring 2024 Hi all, Spring is always a great time of year! New season, fresh start of AOY points, and the big bass of the spawn! At WesternBass we are excited to welcome new site advertisers and express our appreciation for those that return. Winter 2024 Hi All, Who is excited for the start of the new fishing season? I am and I am hoping our fisheries, our industry and our anglers have smooth sailing ahead. There have been a lot of upheavals in our sport this past year and it would be great if we could all just get back to fishing! WesternBass and Fisherman’s Warehouse will be at the ISE show coming up in January and we hope to see you there! Speaking of that, Fisherman’s Warehouse has expanded their retail location lineup and recently opened a store in Rocklin CA – 4200 Rocklin Rd. Grand Opening is planned for December 15th and 16th! Plan to attend two full days of seminars, great prices, and alot of Prizes! Fall 2023 Hi All, We bring you the last issue of 2023 on the heels of the Hawaii fire, Hurricane Hillary and the demise of one of the west’s biggest tournament organizations. We hope that the season’s end and new year brings much calmer waters to us all. We do have many things to look forward to, including the year-end championships, Angler of the Year announcements, the renowned U.S. Open, the big fall feed fish catches, the 2024 schedule, a look at what retirement brings to the GOAT, KVD as he walks away from tournament fishing, and other new ventures within our sport. On the horizon... · Fisherman’s Warehouse Megastore is amidst another expansion. adding a location in Rocklin Ca. · Roseville welcomes the only fall time sport expo as the NorCal Sportsmen’s Show comes to town the weekend of October 14 and 15. You can find a Fisherman’s Warehouse booth on site with a boatload of show specials. · Bass Angler Magazine’s own Mark Lassagne readies to launch the BAM Tournament Trail with Pro/ Am’s, Kayaks and a Pro Tour. Austin Bonjour Wins 2024 WON Bass Clear Lake Open Opportunity knocked – Austin Bonjour answered. After taking a little more than a two-pound lead on the second day of the tournament, Bonjour, the 30-year-old pro from Templeton, Calif. knew that he had to perform on the final day.

California Delta
California Delta By On the water 6:30 launching from Paradise. Cold morning with medium to strong breeze and current (high outgo). Initially started with jointed wakebait; 1 hookup, 10"er, plenty of little "nips" but could tell they were just little juveniles. Switched to red craw squarebill and two 8-10"ers immediately grabbed it. Buddy also hooked up 17.5" striper; we thought it was on but we were wrong. Nothing else for next couple hours of kitchen sink junk fishing. Brother finally caught a keeper on wacky senko. Nothing else after that. When fishing plastics (dropshot and stick worms), got lots of little bait-stealer taps but nothing sizeable. Wind died down by about 11am but we were through; I'm sure if we stayed the whole day we would've eventually gotten a decent bite window but we don't have options to choose and come at different times of the day/evening; early morning is what we can manage and it's always our luck that the morning we get follows a cold front as was this past weekend; this early morning didn't pan out. Hoping for steady warm weather and I believe our fun will happen.
New Melones Lake
New Melones Lake By Fished the houseboat area in the kayak yesterday. Water clarity 8-10 ft. Rained in the morning about 2 hours then cleared up started catching fish. Dropshot, small swimbait and ned rig bite was good once the rain stopped and the sun came out. Lots of dinks, largest fish today was 2.9. Fish came out of 5-18ft
