On June 6th, the SCPBA had the privilege of attending a reception in New York City to honor NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, whose exceptional management of the NYS Pension Funds has made them the most secure in the country.

The Suffolk County Police Department and the Southhampton Town Police Department visited the Eastport-South Manor Central School District today. It was awesome to see the students and teachers at Tuttle Avenue and Eastport Elementary School wear blue to support law enforcement today.

The Suffolk County PBA extends its deepest condolences to the friends, families, and colleagues of Police Officer Joshua Briese of the Gila River Police Department, Tribal Police in Arizona. Officer Briese was tragically shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call at 2:00 a.m. yesterday.

On May 29th, the Suffolk County PBA attended the county’s first-ever Fentanyl Summit hosted by the District Attorney’s Office. The summit brought together law enforcement, families affected by the fentanyl crisis, and the public to share information, resources, and strategies for addressing this crisis.

The Suffolk County PBA supports "Chelsey's Law" to enhance public safety in response to the Opioid Crisis, emphasizing the importance of holding drug dealers accountable for the deaths they cause. Click here to let the members of the Codes Committee and Health Committee in the NYS Senate and Assembly know that you also support “Chelsey’s Law.

The pre-tax benefit plan allows you to take advantage of tax savings on unreimbursed medical expenses, childcare, and adoption assistance. The amount of money you elect to put into the plan will be divided over twenty-five pay periods and taken from your check pre-tax similarly to your deferred compensation.  You may then submit for reimbursement for eligible expenses.   This is a great way to save. However, unused monies in excess of $610.00 are forfeited, so be sure to plan your expenses accordingly.   Open enrollment is September 15, 2023 - December 15, 2023.  For more information click here.
