Ahead of the release of her breathtaking new album sentiment, out April 19th, claire rousay has shared powerful single "it could be anything."
Listen to "it could be anything" now
rousay taps into universal emotions with a confessional-style narrative set in spacious arrangements of laconic guitars, flourishes of strings and spectral synths. The resulting track draws on contemporary music techniques as well as forms found in "emo," resulting in a deeply affecting song. rousay's production choices brilliantly use vulnerable and diaristic lyrics in contrast with her heavily auto-tuned, mechanical vocals, addressing both intimacy and the illusion of it via technology.
claire rousay's new album sentiment is out April 19th, and is available to preorder now on limited-edition sun flare vinyl.
