UNC Computer Science presents 14 papers at ICLR 2024
May 24, 2024UNC CS personnel had 14 papers accepted by the 2024 International Conference on Learning Representations. Five of the papers were selected for spotlight posters, and the submissions came from six different research groups.
IEEE Micro Top Picks recognizes paper co-authored by UNC CS researchers
May 16, 2024A paper co-authored by doctoral student Jaehyun Han, professor Donald Porter, and former undergraduate students Ibrahim Nael Mubarek and Nirjhar Mukherjee has been recognized as one of the IEEE Micro Top Picks from computer architecture conferences in 2023.
Mendoza receives NSF Graduate Research Fellowship
April 25, 2024CS major Christine Mendoza received an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, which provides three years of financial support, including a $37,000 annual stipend and $16,000 cost-of-education allowance. Mendoza was one of only 207 recipients nationwide in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering category.
Blueprints for Preservation
April 23, 2024 | UNC ResearchReligious studies professor Lauren Leve is collaborating with computer scientist Jim Mahaney and Kathmandu locals to document the Swayambjunath, or “Swayambhu,” temple. Today, the team has conducted more than 30 interviews with temple priests, Buddhist monks, devoted visitors, and other people with traditional connections to the site.
