WE ARE TREK LARAPINTA

Trek Larapinta is a boutique trekking company that specialises in guided walking tours on the Larapinta Trail. Established in 1998 Trek Larapinta is a local pioneer of small group trekking tours on the Larapinta Trail. We think small is beautiful; being small we can focus on tour quality and sustainability, maintain strong local knowledge of the landscape and build meaningful connections within our community.

With its rugged, ancient landscape, the Larapinta Trail is one of the most spectacular multi-day hiking experiences in the world. We guide walking tours for small groups of 8-10 trekkers, along this magnificent trail. We employ passionate, highly experienced, professional guides, who deliver world class interpretive tours in one of the most spectacular places in Central Australia.

Trek Larapinta also offers volunteer programs on the Larapinta Trail, supports Indigenous enterprises and practices environmentally responsible travel. We do this in a place we know and love: the Larapinta Trail and Central Australia. These are special places for us. It’s a privilege to live here and share the experience with you. We understand that by looking after our wilderness areas and having a total ‘leave no trace’ policy we are preserving the areas that we visit for future generations. We abide by and believe in the philosophy that when you look after the land, the land looks after you.

Trek Larapinta wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Central and Western Arrernte Country for allowing us the opportunity to share this magnificent place – the Larapinta Trail/Western MacDonnell region.

Dream, reconnect, explore, share and discover with us.

TRAVELLER’S TALES

Sandra on the 9 Day Larapinta Trail Trek (August 2019)

Tour experience was delightful! Climbing Mt Sonder for the sunrise, starlit nights, sunshine, camping, being in the bush and no cooking! Lucy and Alina were fantastic, fun guides and did a marvellous job with the meal preparation, organisation and catering for individual differences in walking abilities! Thank you!!

Lisa & Andrew on the 16 Day End to End Larapinta Trail Trek (August 2019)

Brad and Jacob were so fantastic, they made it a very stress-free experience for us. It was great to know we were being so well looked after regarding all aspects of the trek. Food was fabulous! Ate so well. A definite highlight was Brad and Jacob’s knowledge of the track, its history, geology, flora and fauna. We would never have learnt so much doing it on our own.

Carol on the Super 6 Day Larapinta Trail Trek (July 2019)

A most incredible adventure, I seriously loved every minute of it. Terrific guides with comprehensive knowledge, not only about the local area but our amazing world. This is a must do for anyone wanting to challenge themselves – it is tough so be prepared!
