    Interesting---
I always thought my y was 6/49- most of the records point to that, but just looked at the springs and they're both 07/49 -- I'm going to pretend I didn't look

My YT is in the mechanics getting a Morris Minor 4.55 differential fitted into Y housing and the rear end cleaned up and new bushes, inter leaf rubbers etc fitted.

When the springs were cleaned up (washed, wire brushed and painted) the assembler initials (AAJ) and date stamp (10 49) became evident. (see photo) Same on rear of both sides bottom spring.

    Has anyone else came across...

  • A de Best23 April 2024

Was in the Reading area with 8 other K-Zetec Spridgets.
Missed you Rob, hopefully next year.
Sunny but chilly but atleast it was dry.
(not on friday when arriving in the UK)

Potholes... dont even get me started, missed avoiding 2 serious ones :( but luckely the car survived to make it home again.
And so many roads patched up over and over, not very comfertable on a stiff s...

The TD has a ton of room for bigger tires. It's the thing I hate most about them actually. I put 16" wheels on mine temporarily and it looked fantastic.

With a low profile tire, you could probably run much wider with no issues. I would worry more about rim width for the tire, than tire width for the wheel arch.

    :-)
    Yet.

  • William Revit23 April 2024

A 175/55 tyre is a lot lower profile tyre than a 165R the 175 isn't an issue but the 55 profile is - too low, a 175/55/15 is only 22.6" diameter

    lol
Got my licence the day i turned 17--conned the ol'man into taking me into town to the copshop---I'd been driving around out the road for a couple of years in a trusty old Morris 8 and when i turned 16 I went halves with a mate in a 350 Norton - best bike ever in our eyes back then, actually wouldn't mind still having it.
Anyway ,into the copshop for the licence, the ol'man made me go i...

Took the little monster out with Yorkshire MASC and did around 80 road miles or so. Ran faultlessly, but only saw one other classic out other than us

  • Doug Plumb22 April 2024

On behalf of Essex MASC, I organised a 36 mile run from Rettendon via Terling to On the Latch tearooms in Althorne. 12 Spridgets were joined by 6 cars from local MGOC's. It was great to see Peter in his beautiful Innocenti following its recent work by JD Classics. New members Cathy and Jonny joined for their first, of hopefully many, club event.

    Gord:

I've had an older set of Michelin ZX 175's on my TF for quite some time. No issues at all, and they fill the wheel-well a wee bit more. Car drives and handles just fine.
