Dear Colleagues,

I am honored to announce that we will organize FRAGBLAST 14 in Turkey in 2025.

Organized as the International Symposium on Rock Fragmentation by Blasting, FRAGBLAST serves as an important international scientific platform where the latest developments in blasting and explosive engineering are shared. The primary goal of the symposium is to share scientific research in the field of blasting with the industry, practical applications and experiences in the industry with the academic community, and to encourage a deeper understanding of all aspects of explosive-rock interactions.

FRAGBLAST, one of the most prestigious scientific and technical events of the drilling and blasting industry in the world, has been hosted by countries such as Sweden, USA, Australia, Austria, Canada, South Africa, Chile, Spain, India and China since its beginning in 1983. These symposiums brought together researchers and industry representatives working in the field of drilling and blasting, making significant contributions to scientific innovations and practical applications in the field of drilling and blasting.

Theoretical and practical experiences in the Turkish drilling and blasting sector, academic knowledge and experience produced in mining engineering departments in universities, International Drilling and Blasting Symposiums and mining congresses organized by Chamber of Mining Engineers for more than 50 years, 14th International Rock Fragmentation by Blasting Symposium FRAGBLAST will be held in November 2025 He pioneered the organization of the event in Turkey.

Turkey, a country where explosives are used extensively in the mining and construction sectors with significant potential, is the production center for many local and international explosive manufacturers. In this context, Turkey's selection for the Fragblast 14 symposium is also important for the global world.

Our goal is to create an environment where young scientists and engineers can develop their skills and knowledge through the expertise and experience of their more experienced colleagues. This symposium is a testament to our commitment to promoting professional development and knowledge exchange in the field of blasting.

We invite all institutions, engineers, academics and practitioners interested in Drilling and Blasting to contribute to FRAGBLAST 14. Your contributions and active participation are vital to the success of this symposium.

We look forward to fruitful exchanges of theoretical and practical experience that will undoubtedly enrich our understanding of blasting and explosives engineering. Thank you in advance for being a part of this exciting journey.

Kind regards,

Prof. Dr. Ümit Özer
Chairperson of FRAGBLAST 14
