Located Hinckley Historical Society/Worden Heritage Homestead, 895 Ledge Road, In yard and at Worden Ledges, 1/2 mile behind house, Hinckley, Ohio
    Remarks:
The Worden house and homestead, including what is now known as Worden Ledges, was originally owned by Hiram Worden, who purchased the land from the estate of Samuel Hinckley in 1857. Noble Stuart began his carvings there in 1944, the year he married Nettie Worden, Hiram Worden's daughter. The artist inherited the homestead in 1946. Early sources incorrectly cited Hiram Worden and his son Frank, a stone sculptor and monument maker, as the creators of the reliefs. Cleveland Metroparks purchased the Worden Ledges in 1960 and the remainder of the Worden Homestead in 1984. The Worden Heritage Homestead became home to the Hinckley Historical Society in 1988. IAS files contain a copy of the Ohio Historic Preservation Office's Ohio Historic Inventory Report 1979, no. MED-125-3. IAS files also contain an article from the Medina County Gazette, March 19, 1994, pg. C1-C2; and Hinckley Historical Society handouts describing the history of the Worden family and the Worden Heritage Homestead.
