The Cavaliers are planning to secure permission to speak to more sitting assistant coaches, but Atkinson and Borrego are both top assistant coaches with head-coaching backgrounds that appeal to the Cavaliers in their process to replace J.B. Bickerstaff, sources told ESPN.
Shams Charania: Illinois’ Coleman Hawkins is withdrawing from the 2024 NBA Draft and will transfer to a new program, the forward tells @TheAthletic @Stadium. Hawkins is expected to be among the highest-paid NIL college basketball players and is using final year of eligibility for development.
Pac-12 Player of the Year Caleb Love is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to Arizona for his final season, he announced Wednesday. Love made his announcement via a video on social media. “Wildcat Nation, it’s been so amazing the way you’ve welcomed me and showered me with love,” he said. “There’s no way I can walk away from that right now. The show goes on.”

Cavs will interview Kenny Atkinson, James Borrego for head coaching gig
Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: Cleveland has been granted permission to interview Golden State assistant Kenny Atkinson and New Orleans assistant James Borrego for head coaching job. Cavs are beginning expansive interview process that will include several more candidates.
