An apartment inspired by "Something's Gotta Give."
With a view of New York City from up in the clouds, this apartment has a sleek, modern style with a comfortable, relaxed attitude. Designers James Michael and Phoebe Howard found their inspiration from the home in the Hollywood hit Something's Gotta Give. They designed it for House Beautiful as part of a larger showhouse project, Designer Visions: Cinema Style. Also watch our video tour.

Warm Touches of Color
The Quintus Barcelona Chandelier from John Rosselli echoes the oval shape of the antique English dining table. China, crystal, and flatware by William Yeoward Crystal. Vintage French floor lamps from Lee Calicchio are paired with taupe rather than cream shades. "When you're working with a cool palette, you have to add a few warm tones to keep it from getting too icy," Phoebe Howard says.

Urban Aerie
With drop-dead views of the Manhattan skyline, this apartment on the 58th floor of the Setai Fifth Avenue residences, developed by Bizzi & Partners, manages to be both glamorous and comfortable. That's easier said than done, but Jim and Phoebe Howard were up to the challenge.

Touch of Shimmer
"I have a coffee table addiction," says designer Phoebe Howard. One of her favorites, Dennis & Leen's Modern Silver Leaf, adds shimmer to the living room. Sofa and armchairs by Baker Bespoke, covered in Mark Alexander by Romo fabric. Sofa pillow fabric by Sanderson. A cowhide rug by Stark Carpet sits atop the Zanzibar Driftwood Rug by Karastan. Richard Shapiro Studiolo easel in polished steel. Walls are Ralph Lauren Paint's Stony Mountain; a high-gloss light gray on the ceiling makes the room look twice as high.
