Good job Yap. I will say that after having read 2 of Yap's other books I was a little disappointed because either the formulas didn't appear to work or the title was misleading. The format of the book is well done and just shows how intelligent Yap is in knowing how to teach concepts to other people.
This book assumes you already have some knowledge of flying stars or have a book that details flying star calculations. It is by no means a complete book. He doesn't explain flat dragon formation for example, because he says that it is uncommon formation (which I disagree with as it is actually quite common in some parts of the world, like the midwest of the US).
But then again, no feng shui book is really complete.
Other books you might get if you are looking for apartments is "A Master's course in feng shui" by wong, and also "Idiot's guide to feng shui". I don't agree with the grid system of flying star formation for internal structures as my experimentation shows that the yin way (pie chart method) of showing where flying stars are located is more accurate.
And I know that Yap doesn't believe that colors can affect internal stars, but my experimentation shows that it cans.
One thing that is valuable about this book though is his emphasis on forms affecting the internal stars of a place. There is also a good explanation of external features to avoid. I wish I had this book before selecting the place that I live.
Despite it's length this book feels like a book that is roughly 2/3's of length because of all the pictures in the book. It was really a quick read. I read it in about a week or 2.
You can also get e-book versions of this book cheaper at his website site if you don't want a physical book.
I only found 2 errors in this book, but they should be easy to pick out if you are paying attention. One of those errors is a picture rendering error.

There are so many Feng Shui books in the market but none addresses application of Feng Shui for apartments so specifically. I love staying in apartments and will be moving out very soon and this book really helped me find the apartment I wanted. Its very easy to read and very well organised with colours and a step by step guide starting with assessing the tools and techniques, recognising the external environment, see if there is anything that is bad in the vicinity with reference to your house.

Choosing specific places with nice water and wide space in front is good and how to avoid stuff which is bad. The best thing is, there are lots and lots of pictures in this 374 page book which shows you exactly what is good and what is bad.

After all that, there is the walk through at the end which gives you a simple check list that you can cross check on the potential of a particular unit. Simple, useful and to the point. Dont buy your next apartment without reading this book. Trust me you will save yourself a lot of headache in the end.

OK, renting or getting your own apartment in NYC is really a nightmare. Of course the cost are sky high and so choosing a really good one that you can call home is not an easy task. Especially if you have to have one which is good and bring good fortune & good relationships to you. So I bought this, used it and am now hunting for my own apartment.

The book has simple step by step guide of how to do things which is what I really like, lots of pictures and colorful tabs for every chapter. Easy read, simple to use and very effective. i love it!
