U.S. 74 Eastbound reopens to traffic following weeklong closure

LAURINBURG — The portion of U.S. 74 closed following a vehicle fire in Scotland County has reopened, a spokesperson for the NC Department of Transportation confirmed Friday.

Jersey Mike’s Day raises $24K for SMF

NC senate advances bill mandating sheriffs cooperate with ICE

RALEIGH — The North Carolina General Assembly Senate Judiciary Committee voted this week mandating North Carolina sheriffs to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, by requiring them to comply with requests by federal agents interested in picking up jail inmates believed to be in the country illegally.
