Building Fire in Ardmore
PWFC, April 23
Penn Wynne Fire Company was dispatched to an apartment fire in Ardmore about 11:40pm. Engine 21 was assigned to establishing a water supply which included dropping about 600 feet of 5" supply line. Bird Rescue!
PWFC, April 11
Today, a special request came into the station to assist the township animal warden with a bird dangling in a tree. A turkey vulture somehow had a wire wrapped around it and a tree branch. Ladder 21's aerial was raised into position so the animal warden could ascend and free the animal.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
PWFC, March 16
Today, the Penn Wynne Fire Company Honor Guard, along with the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore Honor Guard, and other members of the Lower Merion Fire Department, participated in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Conshohocken. The weather was perfect, the crowd was huge, and the celebration was exciting and fun.

Acquired Structure!
PWFC, March 13
Tonight, Penn Wynne firefighters were given the opportunity to train/drill in a vacant house. This is a unique opportunity in that the #1 advantage it offers firefighters is an unknown floorplan with which to perform fire suppression operations.
Firefighters drilled through evolutions on fire attack, primary search and rescue, and vent, enter, isolate, search (VEIS).

Vehicle Fire on I-76
PWFC, March 10
Just after midnight, LMFD was dispatched to I-76 for a vehicle fire. A FedEx tractor trailer caught fire. With a heavy fuel load and limited access to a water supply, several engines were called to the scene including Paoli's pumper-tanker and Penn Wynne's, Engine 21.

Master Streams
PWFC, January 31
Tonight, Penn Wynne firefighters practiced "taking a hydrant" and establishing a water supply. Once a water supply was set up, master streams from a portable deck gun and the aerial waterway on Ladder 21 were used to flow water.
