It's cheap. It's clean. The staff is mostly nice. It's seldom crowded.
And there are a lot of rules. Anywhere your eye can rest is a sign with a rule. Make sure you can live with them before you sign up.
If you are thinking 'this could be a nice place to ride an exercise bike and keep up on email' this is not the gym for you. That's a rule. And they take it seriously. Super seriously.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mike B.Seattle, WA53331Nov 20, 2018
Solid yoga instructors. Free weight and cardio selection is nice, too. Drop in visits are $10 and not easily found on the website.
The yoga is great here ... too bad this doesn't come up as a yoga studio on yelp.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert Santon R.Carlsbad, CA016010Oct 7, 2018

Great gym, great people.
I've been coming here for 12+ months now and I love it. Close to work in Pioneer Square and I mostly go during lunch and/or after work.
Feels like a big family with personal trainers, staff and members. They remember your name, typical schedule and favorite workouts.
Their complimentary classes including spin, yoga and full body workouts are really good too.
Thumbs up for a great community feeling and solid group workouts!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shirley H.Seattle, WA164Aug 11, 2018
I guess you get what you pay for. The monthly membership is fairly low compared to other gyms in the area.
This is a small and compact gym. It has almost all the equipment that you will need for strength training and cardio, but there is very little room.
If you arrive on the weekend, expect to ring the doorbell several times. The front doors are locked on the weekend and the receptionist will buzz you in. On the days that I've visited, the receptionist is rarely at the desk and I've had to call the phone number to get buzzed in.
The weight lifting equipment is pretty limited. My biggest issue is with the bench press rig, which is not adjustable. The tallest height is too high for me and the lower height is difficult to rerack, especially when lifting heavy. I have short arms that it requires that I have a spotter, but the setup is so close to the wall that a spotter can't easily get behind the rig without getting in the way of my lift.
The staff is really bias. They have preferential treatment towards to geriatric crowd or the cute 20 something females. The staff has a double standard when it comes to using and sharing equipment. They will harass you to get off the equipment so that others can use it. If you are part of the previously mentioned age groups, you'll be left alone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sophie L.London, United Kingdom1734291983Sep 27, 2017
Nice, clean gym and great for drop-in sessions.
Pros:
- $10+tax for a day pass
- Friendly and knowledgable staff
- Spin bikes and classes available
- Towel & locker service (they provide you a key for free)
- Soaps and lotions available in lockers (bring your own conditioner)
- Never too crowded, even during busy hours
Cons:
- Limited equipment available during busy hours
- Soaps aren't the best quality
- Super tiny napkin-sized towels for gym use (I opt to use the shower towel for the workout)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adrienne M.Seattle, WA2837Mar 28, 2019
Excellent customer service and value for the price. Clean, friendly, affordable and has everything you need to stay fit. I unfortunately had to cancel my membership because I lost my job in that building, and they were super helpful and accommodating and even issued me a refund, which I was not expecting. Unless you specifically require a swimming pool, I highly recommend Seattle Fitness!

I went to Seattle Fitness for a few years and LOVED it! I have tried out a bunch of gyms, done classpass, etc, and still can't find a gym I like this much.
It's clean, has shampoo/conditioner/lotion/cotton in the bathrooms, and is never too crowded despite being small!
The best part is the people who work here - everyone is so friendly, considerate, and nice and encourage you as you keep coming back day after day. Tight-knit gym in the middle of Pioneer Square - what a gem :)
There are also puppies :DHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claudine M.Seattle, WA143262455Sep 24, 2015
Just for the record, I've been to many gyms in many cities, and based on my experience, one that deserves more than a 3-star rating is rare. There's always something not quite right.
That said, this gym is just okay. It's convenient (if you work or live around Pioneer Square, that is), it's clean, there's towel service, there's shampoo and soap and cotton and lotion in the ladies' room, they give you a key for a locker if you need it, and they have most of the equipment you need to get through your routine. Okay, just to be fair -- because it really deserves this emphasis -- IT'S CLEAN. Staff members here are always looking around for things they can clean or pick up. Patrons, for the most part, seem to be considerate about cleaning up after themselves as well.
It's also the least busy gym I've ever been in, which is great, although I've only gone in the evenings after work and on a Saturday morning.
That's the thing, though. If this gym got even a tad busier, I would hate it so much. The weight room is SO SMALL that it's cramped even for five people to be there at one time. There is virtually no room to do any kind of lifting, if you weren't on a bench or the squat rack. There are only little walkways in between weight racks.
Another thing I really dislike about the weight room is there is a big pole blocking you from seeing yourself in the mirror while you are in the squat rack. Given that squats are such a fundamental exercise, I believe in checking yourself out while squatting to make sure you are in good form.
They have a no-cellphone rule in the contract, which I *kind of* understand, but it's borderline ridiculous. A lot of busy people squeeze gym time into their day, but that doesn't mean they need to completely detach just to come here. My fiancé is an IT professional who is on-call all the time, and while he was checking his emails the other day, the lady in the front desk told him to put his phone away. Really? Are we children around here?
The number of cardio machines in here is sufficient, but there are no stairmills. Which is sort of okay.
The discounted amount I pay at Gold's is a little bit cheaper than what I pay here on a "family plan". It comes out to $66 for two people per month, and there was a $50 enrollment fee for each person (also discounted, I think, because we live at The Wave).
All in all, sure, I'm okay with this gym, but I won't be here if more people come.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Tiffani C.Stanwood, WA35839May 31, 2019
My office is just up the road and I came here on a whim because the drop in Fee was so affordable! I have dropped in a couple times when I was short on time after work and they were great each time. I probably will purchase a membership soon. Nothing super fancy or frilly- just what you need. Had to work in with a couple people in the weight area because it was tight but everyone working out was friendly!
