Salmon Region waters to be stocked with trout in June

Anglers in the Salmon Region will have approximately 22,490 freshly stocked trout to catch at area fishing holes this June.

June fish stocking schedule for the Upper Snake Region

Fish and Game staff will be stocking a total of 50,800 catchable-size (10 to 12 inch) trout at the following locations around the Upper Snake Region in June. All stocked fish are rainbow trout unless otherwise specified in the comments section. Start the summer off right with a trip to your favorite fishing spot! 

Catch the Fun on Free Fishing Day June 8

Saturday, June 8 is Idaho’s Free Fishing Day and Idaho Fish and Game invites anglers, residents and nonresidents, to celebrate the day by fishing without a license. Learn the joys of fishing at two local events: Salmon - Kids Creek Pond, 10 a.m. to noon and Stanley - Sawtooth Kids Pond, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wolf trapper education class offered in Glenns Ferry on June 1, 2024

An instructor-led wolf-trapper education class will be held in Glenns Ferry on June 1, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. as part of the National Trappers Association Western Region Trapping and Outdoor Expo.

For centuries, rotenone has been used by native tribes of Central and South America to catch fish for food. Since the 1930s, it has also been used by fishery managers to control and remove unwanted fish. Rotenone blocks the exchange of oxygen across the gills of fish and essentially suffocates them.
