About this deal

Currently playing a 52/58 combo, but considering changing to a 50,54,58 to make a *4 gap between my PW and the rest of the wedges. Is this overkill or are people seeing a benefit? General advice on wedge mixing: If you have an iron set PW you like, next find a SW you like. Then, find a GW that splits the difference between the two. A LW can then be added, although many golfers only use it for partial shots. Yes you can use a 58 degree wedge as a sand wedge. It's a good option for golfers who struggle with their sand shots and often leave the golf ball in the bunker. Choosing a high bounce club will also help with playing bunker shots out of softer, fluffier bunkers as mentioned above. Ultimately, the best wedge set for a golfer will depend on their individual needs and preferences. It is important to try out different clubs and combinations to 50-Degree Wedge Set Brand

So I have a 50.08° 200 Series Oil Can Vokey Wedge, a 54°.10 SM Oil Can Vokey Wedge and a 58°.12 SM Oil Can Vokey Wedge. (The wedges have 5.5 Rifle Spinner Shafts.) Yep. My PW is 46, so 50,54,58 provides a nice even spacing. I hit way more wedge shots in a round than long irons, so I dropped the 3 iron. I am currently using 48-54-60 but still have a place to add one or two clubs. I hit my 60* about 60 meter, 54* about 80 meter, and 48* about 110 meter. I usually use 48* for full swing. 54* mainly for chip and pitch. 60* mostly for green side bunker and flop. I also went to this set up years ago, for me it’s more mental, the 58 tells me to get the darn ball on green. The 60 tells me to get cute and try stuff i have no business trying. They have all been tremendously helpful. I plan on going to a shop and test out wedges to close the yardage gaps; not the loft gaps. Will keep you all posted on my results in case anybody is interested! FWIW, the fitting pointed me to the T100S. Given the lofts, my choices are 48*/52*/56* or 50*/54*/58*. I wonder if I’d really miss that 60* Here's what I have been playing for the last two years... Really like the progression and versatility of it. I have been playing 46 PW with 50, 54, 58 for several years now. I thought it was smart, due to the consistent 4* gap. What I had not thought of is that the normal 4* gap between clubs also includes a 1/4" shaft difference. My 50, 54 & 58 are the same length so the yardage gap is actually less than the yardage gap of 4* + 1/4" that exists in the other irons.

Yes, the 50-54-58 combo is exactly what I play as well and I don't plan to ever change it. Way better than the 56 and 60 that I used to have.

Do you carry a 3W and a Hybrid? I personally dropped my hybrid and added the extra wedge because I was hitting my 3 iron just as far as the hybrid and I don't have the tendency to top the 3 iron like I did with the hybrid. Overall, three wedges is an easy way to always ensure you have a 'perfect club for a specific yardage inside the 130 marker, but the reality is a lot of pros only have 2 wedges outside their iron set.

In their infancy, the Vokey mission was a simple one. Listen to players describe their wedge shots, and craft a wedge grind that performed exactly how the player wanted. Grind in wedges is all to do with the sole and how it sits on the ground. Grind is a highly complicated area, and if you want to know more, then you can read and watch our 'Weducation' video here. We look specifically at the Vokey SM7 wedge and go through each grind. It's a great set up with all these strong lofted irons out there. I've only pw, 54, 58 until this year. Only Because my PW is 46*. Hey everyone! I am new to this forum and I have done some digging around for similar topics but I wanted to ask the club techs what their opinion is towards the above loft sets.I have a Mizuno JPX919 Tour PW, which has a 46* loft. I plan on adding 3 more wedges to complete my set. My handicap is 8. I understand that the ideal gapping in my scenario would be 50;54;58 but I know many pros out there gap it 52;56;60 with a similar PW loft. Not so. Despite having the same length shaft, the 52° came up 16 yards short of the PW. With the 50°, the difference was still 12. The PW just had a hotter face, and the CGs carried the ball a little shorter than expected.
