With 13 weeks of fire training behind them, our Camp 57 recruits spent this week with our Medical Division going over our medical protocols, documentation procedures, and policies specific to our medical response. They also got some hands on instruction to ensure their EMS knowledge aligns with our expectations.
18 of the 26 recruits already have their NREMT medical certification as either a Basic EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic, and will begin working in the field next week. The remaining 8 will continue in the classroom to earn their EMT certification.
Graduation will be this Wednesday, May 15 at 6:00 PM at the JATC building, 12723 S Park Ave in Riverton. You can view a livestream on YouTube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/live/vceCyaDgowo?si=bfE-1c7AOUnMu0Xo

Dear Friends, As my career of 31 years is closing, I have so many thoughts and emotions going through me. First of all a tremendous thank you to all who have been such an example, I would not be where I’m at if it wasn’t for my family and friends.
A few thoughts: Take care of yourselves, please. Take time for yourselves and MAKE TIME FOR YOUR FAMILIES. Be a good friend and listener. Have a love for this profession. You have an influence that is far reaching. Do your best to leave our department a better place. Take care of each other! Like I’ve said before - The smallest deed far out weighs the best of intentions.
God bless Thurman
Chris served with multiple other agencies before his hire with UFA in 2007. Thank you Sir for your service!
One of our heavy rescues disciplines is building collapse and securing structures after an accident like this. Thank goodness for no injuries here on last nights auto vs building.
