Save the date and come celebrate Olympia School District retirees and School Advocates of the Year at our annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, May 30. This year the social will be hosted by Olympia High School (1302 North Street SE) and takes place from 4–5:30 p.m.

The Olympia School District Board of Directors has approved the school year calendar for the 2024-25 school year. ​ This calendar includes only districtwide holidays and events. School-specific events are not included, so be sure to check school websites/calendars for specific school-related events and activities. ​ Graduation dates for 2025 will be published as soon as the dates are confirmed.

Free sports physicals will be offered on Saturday, June 1, 2024, for Olympia School District middle and high school students planning on participating in athletic programs during the 2024-25 school year. These sports physicals are open to all OSD students who will be enrolled in grades 7-12 for the 2024-25 school year. A new physical examination is required to be on file with your student's school every year for all student-athletes.

New and renewal transfer requests are now being accepted for the 2024-25 school year. ​ Any student desiring to attend (or continue to attend) school in the Olympia School District, outside of their regular attendance area, must apply for a transfer. Parents and legal guardians need to submit their student’s name(s) to the district via a Choice Transfer Request to be considered for transfer.

Olympia School District Early Childhood programs are now accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year. Located at many of our elementary school sites, OSD early childhood programs offer free and low-cost preschool options for all students. These options include Transition to Kindergarten, Developmental Preschool, and Early Support Services ("Birth-to-Three").

The following is an update of work that has been done, as well as next steps, in the School Facility Efficiency Review process. ​ Background In late August 2023, the Olympia School Board received an analysis of enrollment trends and a long-term enrollment forecast from Flo Analytics in Seattle. That analysis showed that districtwide enrollment has declined in recent years and is projected to continue to decline by nearly 1,000 students over the next 10 years. The lower enrollment projected is due to a variety of factors, including housing trends and declining births — issues not unique to our district.
