5 cards for $5

I am selling these kits, five cards for $5. However, you can easily make them at home for less with scraps. Collect together five A5 pieces of plain card in complimentary colours, 3 different pieces of patterned paper (150mm2 is big enough) in complimentary design/colours, a distresser, an ink pad, sandpaper, gel pens, dbl sided tape, a dry embossing machine (sizzix/cuttlebug) & a stamped verse/sentiment if you like

1. Score and fold your five A5 cards
2. Cut five pieces of the patterned paper at 40mm2
3. Distress some of them (or not) and ink the edges with the stamp pad
4. Arrange on one of the bottom corners of each the cards
5. Emboss, cut and sand(paper) a shape from the remaining pieces of patterned paper (like the pink heart)
6. Stick it all on the card and finish with a stamped message and a hand drawn border in gel pen

How easy was that?

You can make the cards all the same but in different colours or you can create a different layout for each one.
This was the 'difficult' version
For extra ‘oomph’ add embellishments like buttons and ribbons!

Flower Soft – flocking delight!

After being introduced to flower soft by a customer, thank you June, I have been experimenting. Here are a couple of trials used in my class today. Cheryl & Thelma enjoyed the design and were happily surprised at their creativity. Music to my ears . . .

Quick (modern) Quilling

In my last quilling class . . . .

we created a beautifully mellow backdrop for some modern quilled flowers.

We simply
* punched some circles (3 sizes)
* distressed the edges of all the circles
* cut and distressed the backing paper, then adhered to the front of the folded card
* quilled some loose coils
* glued the ends and then scrunched them between our fingers
* attached them to the circles
* drew some stalks and leaves with a gel pen and then went over the stems with kindy glitz
Voila!

Simple & Gorgeous. Better still, quick to replicate and make a few for emergencies.

New Day Dawning

With nine months between this and my last blog, I have thrived. I now have the energy and will to create some extraordinary projects to inspire others. Especially children. If I can create a new generation that loves to imagine and create, then I am fulfilling my goal to make the world a happier place.

Here’s my latest creation;

29th March

After four days with gastro, I am so grateful to be almost human again.  My body keeps warning me that I am not doing things ‘right’ and I still don’t listen. I will try AGAIN tomorrow to start at the beginning – simplify, re-balance, unclutter. I will redo my way of promoting my classes as well. Examples of the projects to encourage customers to ‘have a go’. Sleep tonight. Start again in the morning. I’m going to organise/build a display rack for my ribbons tomorrow. Then this week, I am determined to create a proper classroom.

Well . . . I’m now blogging

I am pretty damn awful at this, as I have no idea at what I am doing. My desire is a beautiful site full of inspirational works. I’ll just keep hacking away.
