My Native City

April 16, 2009

I was born and grew up in Leningrad, which in 1991 got its original name St. Petersburg. The city was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 as a challenge to traditional Russian customs. Everything there – its name, plan, architecture, even geography – is not typical and violates traditional views and customs.

Here areĀ  some links to the sites about the city, its biggest museum Hermitage and the National Library of Russia.

One more reason for the title

April 12, 2009

Another reason for title is that the number of people who want their kids to keep the language is very small, that’s why we are a very small company indeed.

The magazine is a printed edition, not an online publication, but we do have a website where you can get more info about the magazine, see the covers and tables of contents of the published issues and subscribe or purchase the magazine. Please visit our site http://detskiyzhurnal.org/
