How You Will Like Your Waiting Time

You think there is no chance that you will like your waiting time?

Well, then I propose something to you to try.

I got the idea when I myself waited today in a car park but couldn’t sit in the car as I had no keys.

There is nothing I can do.”, “Wasted time..”, “Time is money. Hurry up!”

So, next time these thoughts come up USE your time and SMILE. Yeah, it is that easy. And the best is that you don’t need anything. Just smile! Big and bigger! May you want to laugh. Then just laugh!

You don’t need a reason for a laugh just the good feeling that araises is a very good reason.

Smile and laugh! And you will pass a wonderful (waiting) time!

Keep your smile,

Mira =)

P. S.: If you are in a place where many people have to wait like in a waiting room. Why not to leave a little not with a smiley or the magic five letter word SMILE?

I am sure the reader of your note will love it. That is it worth, isn’t it? And it gives you some busy time during the waiting period ; )

How Facial Muscles In The State Of Smiling Influence Your Emotion

Smiles to everybody!

Are you curious about the study I told you?

Here it is:

“In 1988 a team led by Fritz Strack came up with a brilliant cover story that allowed them to manipulate facial expressions without the research participants’ awareness. The researchers told participants that they were studying adaptations for people who had lost the use of their hands. Such individuals would need to use their mouths to hold pencils for writing, or to use a television remote. The study was to assess whether the unpleasantness or difficult of these tasks affected their “attentional abilities and responsiveness.” The current study on people with full use of their hands was simply designed to test the procedure.

The participants then held a pencil in their teeth (which naturally activates the muscles typically used for smiling) or lips (which does not activate those muscles), and then rated several cartoons for funniness. Those who were (unknowingly) “smiling” rated the cartoons as funnier than people who weren’t smiling.” (source and further information: http://scienceblogs.com/cognitivedaily/2007/11/just_smile_youll_feel_better_w.php)

So how about you? Do you want to try it?

Surely, you have a pencil next to you which just waits to make you smile!

And if you want to do it even better, here an instruction how to fake a smile that let you feel better:

– put a pencil between your teeth

– stretch the corners of your mouth

– raise your checks

Voilà, how do you feel? I bet you feel better.

And for the cherry of the cake:

– look into a mirror

– enjoy your smile

Probably you can put the pencil out of your mouth while you keep your wonderful smile.

You can do this little “exercise” in a few seconds and to be remembered, draw a little smiley on your favorite pencil. If you connect the smiley with your experience the smiley can be a big enough activator for a smile and you will feel better!

Have fun with smiling,

Mira =)

Send A Smile Via SMS

Have you ever send a smile via sms? I don’t speak about a smiley you just placed because there were still few signs left.
I propose you to send a message like: Here is a smile for YOU! =)
You think that your friends think you are strange if you send a sms just like this?
Well, I think that people are pleased about. And not only your friends!
Type any number and send a smile-sms to make a pleasure to someone.

I did it yesterday after I failed last time because the number which I had typed didn’t exist. The message was sent and I can imagine the smile it produced. I did it anonymnous from the internet without name just to do a pleasure.

As there is only a certain html code permitted I couldn’t put a sms-service on this site but I found a site where you can send anonym, without registration and sure free of charge!
http://www.sendsmsnow.com/

Take the chance to spread your smile!

Mira =)

P. S.: If you know another good sms service, plz let me know.

How Your Day Will Be Great For Sure!

Good morning, good day or good evening – depends on your time

but this post is considered to use the technique right in the morning shortly after you wake up or get up.

My last days were great after 1 1/2 days of a little down and I think it changed because I realized a little idea I got from nowhere 🙂

Where is my promised technique? Here it is:

As soon as possible after you are awake in the morning repeat three times with joy and a smile on your face:

“Today IS a great day.”

End. Nothing more. It is really that easy. But reread my description. It is important that you do it with joy. Put a smile on your face, let go all cares. This technique needs less than a minute.

“TODAY is a great day! Today IS a great day! Today is a GREAT day!”

Make a melody and enjoy your positive feelings!

By the way I just remembered a phrase I read some time ago:

“Say to my cares I will speak with them after breakfast. But they don’t have to wait. Really! They don’t have to!”

🙂

Hope you enjoyed the post and you have a smile on your face.

Until next time,

keep smiling!

Mira =)

A Smile Says Thank You

Today I got a wonderful smile and I want to share the story with you.

I was on the way to bring a packet to the post station. It rained but I had an umbrella with me. The rain got stronger and I realized that there is a man behind me who is getting wet because he has no umbrella.

As I am quite chary it took a longer time until I had the courage to ask him if he wants to go with me under the umbrella.

I think he was surprised but pleased and therefore I got a smile from him which I still remember. He refused my proposal with a smile and said that he’ll be at home soon.

Remember: if you don’t know the right words for saying thank you a true smile will do the job!

Whom you can say thank you with a smile today?

Thankful smiles for reading,

Mira =)

What Our Debilities Cost

I want to share with you yesterday’s saying on the calendary.

“Our debilities should cost a smile, but not our humour.”

(from Oliver Tietze)

What does us say this sentence? In my opinion Tietze recommend to accept our debilities. To smile at them to forgive us to not be perfect.

Feel free to discuss about it.

Happy smiles,

Mira =)

Physical components of a smile

How many muscles do you guess to work to make you smile?

4? 10? 20? 30?

Well, I see you have no idea 😉

Now let consider the opposite?

How many muscles do you need for frowning?

More or less what do you guess? (nice rhyme :))

I know how shall you know it as nobody has told you before. Therefore I will tell you: 43 = forty-three

I don’t want to overstrain your math skills but you will agree that you need more than double amount of muscles for frowning than for smiling!

Why do you do this hard work?

Consider it takes the less effort for you to smile 2 minutes than to frown for 1 minute. (If you can speak about effort when you are smiling.)

I hope in the future I will find more about which muscles take part because on the other side working muscles keep you healthy.

I found this information on “What’s in a smile?”-blog where you can find something about the relation of a smile, braces and white stripes.

Enjoy your day, don’t overwork your muscles but smile!

Draw It everywhere!

Hey, smilers out there!

Do you remember as a kid when you draw this and that in the sand or snow or on the steamy window?

What did you feel while gazing your creation? Wasn’t there a certain satisfaction?

Yesterday I did a walk through the snowy forest. My thoughts were wandering and I considered that I can’t give a smile to someone in the lonely forest. But then it hit me: Draw a smiley in the snow!

I did it and it gave me happy feelings because I know the one who will pass will put a smile on his face.

It cost me only a few seconds – as a real smile – but I know the effect will be great!

Look for your next occasion to pass a drawn smiley by! There are so manys!

And consider that more than one person will see your smiley and smile! How does it feel for you to shift the mood of many people?

And if you see a drawn smiley anywhere, smile and thank for it. Maybe you want to give this smiley a mate?

Smiling regards and be creative!

Mira =)
