Handicrafts is what we are all about.

My mum just returned from Jaipur carrying a lot of handicrats to keep Sindoor ( we have like 5 already) and those little elephents and horses and some more stuff, I promise I will post pictures here. so each time she gets all this showpeices (unless stuff) I have a huge Grin on my face thinking do we need it ... are we still collecting it.

but this time she gave me an answer that make me feel so proud of her.

We should be buying handycrafts because:
1. It reflects our culture and keeps it alive in our homes.
2. It is the oldest form of Craft avalable in our civilizataion and yes it is so so pretty.
3. Some old guy a family must be making these with there hands and selling for cheap rate which a hope to   buy 2 times bread for there family. if you notice its better then begging but if it dosnt work they might have to beg.

When I go out and a guy comes and tries to sell me a pot with some mirror work on it for rs 100, I think its definatly not worth it because that pot is just for rs 10 and he has applied cheap glitter to it and ignore the guy even when he bargains it to the half price But then I go to the Mall to same elite shop like "Earth" or some ethnic shop and the same pot being sold for rs 450 is cheap and affordable because the shop is clean has AC and the salesman speaks in a better language. ( i am not talking about the quality at this moment)

but if you ponder on it who do you think needs the money more ? the roadside struggler or the guy who has opened a shop in a mall.
If no one buys the pot from that guy he will be forced to beg.

If we do not promote the handicrafts in our own country we are making it more poor and forcing more people to beg.

When I went to bangkok  noticed there was not even one begger( maybe one or 2 oldies) and NO not everyone is a prostitiute out there, people are hardworking they make jobs for themselves. I saw boys who sits on road counters and paint nails for gals, a guy who painted helmets, a man who stands like statue for hours, a girl who sells handmade watches and clocks and the best part is people and tourists buy it.

Thai people dont know english and they strike a deal via calculaters typing the negotiation amount but they have a value for there own handicrafts and because of which tourists also buy them.

My mum said this oldie begged to her to buy the lil leather coated horse swearing that he was hungry since yesterday and need money to feed his children, when she paid him the first thing he did was ran and bought bread and gave it to his kids with water, that makes me thankgod that we are not in his place but we can help our fellow humanbeings to fight the poverty in India ....

Banana on Hair - The Ugly Truth

I recently got my hair colored in choclate brown as I have very dark black hair no one would even notice that, just my highlights got a bit colored up anyways....
If you are planning to color your hair just for fun and you do NOT have a  hair greying problem, DON'T DO IT.
I choose the L'oreal Casting creme gloss praying that it wont dry out my hair but it did and although I used the inbuild conditioner and color protect shampoo the hair is just so coarse and dry I am putting them in a pony.

Anywas so that was about the Damage... I knew that there needs to be a good repair treatment to save my long tresses from the ugly rubber band and those Bobby pins...

So I started Hunting for a Homemade damage repair therepy for dry hair and when you do that the most common one you will see is the Banana and Honey.

I tried that and I am still not sure it that worked well, all you gotta do is take some banana (riper one) mash it and mix it with a teaspoon of honey and apply it to hair wash after 25 minutes.

Its not as easy as it sounds, the banana needs to be mashed in the blender and made a very very thin paste then mixed with honey and applied as i didnt know this (unfortunalty) I just used my palms to mash the fruit and applied it all over the more chunky pieces were mashed when they were on my hair.
This was a mistake those peices were so sticky they never came out even when i shampooed my hair twice they were still there, I applied the conditioner and still those sticky morons wouldnot come out ... I had to come out of the shower and wait until my hair dried up but still the chunks remain until the hair was really really dry and I had to remove the residue with a fine toothed comb and it took a lot of time for everythng to come out, do not ask about the hair breakage :'(

please donot try banana on hair until you have mashed it to a paste such thin as milk to wash it off.
I will be trying other homamade recipies as well and post the outcome.

hope this helps.

Things to do in an Airport.

Okay so after a while me and my parents decided to go on a vacation to Kolkata one of the metro cities in India for a vacation. The dilemma was we could not get the tickets in same flights together ( This was planned as they are travelling by Air India and sucks!! )

There fight time and mine varies for about 2 hours which means I will reach the destination 2 hours prior to my folks.

Now I know it’s not a big deal waiting at the airports and like .. everybody goes through it but I do not wanna waste my time there and make the most outta it cz I know I will never go to Kolkata again …

I tried googling for the airport Amenities but there isn’t much info available.

So here is my list of things I can give a try to:

1. Trying my hands on photography at the busy busy street you get great pics, that’s the top to do thing.

2. Uploading a few Calories : Lately I am too concerned with being skinny and I wanna pile up a few kgs on so of course as Bengal is famous for sweets EATING them all is the next thing to do.

3. SPA – Being a girly gal as I am, I have seen this famous SPA in Chennai and GOA airports which seems like an express service, wont mind a quick facial or a manicure. 

4. Ofcourse shopping: The best thing to pik up is a postcard and you know what even if I am going to stay there for just 5 days I would love to send a postcard to my friends in Mumbai .. going authentic vintage. They will love it. Other things to shop can be some cultural stuff from there, not things which I get in Mumbai cheaper then there 

5. Having a glass of wine or BEER : I am not so hopeful about this in Kolkata

6. Talking to a complete stranger: be it a Gal or a guy, completely bluff about yourself and say bye bye when its time to go. No further contact ever

Online shopping

I recently found myself to be very addictive to online shopping in past few months I wouldn't give up looking into the site for new offers / sales / freebies. to face it i have had the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It started with the www.ebay.in as its globally a renowned brand like amazon which isnt yet available in India I started buying small stuff like accessories and  makeup from there and them apparels, trust me ebay.in will take about an year or more to showcase the quality and variety like ebay.com or ebay.co.uk

So when the items came and if they were damaged it was replaced .. but the apparel quality shown and written in description didnt match this made me stay away from shopping for apparels and shoes on ebay.

Fortunatly I came across another site which provided High quality apparel brand which was economic and yeahhh free shipping and I really think you should check it out http://www.zovi.com
The quality is amazing and they provide free shipping all over India.

Thats Grand!
Another few site you should check out is www.yehbhi.com if you are really brand conscious and need great deals on them, I found this site cool for collage students as it contains mostly sporty stuff.
www.myantra.com is another leading name but one of my friend swears that they have the coolest return policy like if you order a shoe and its a different size they send a pickup courier how cool is that.

So pros and Cons time.
--------------------------------

Pros:
1.online shopping makes life easy, gets you great deals, big brands and gets  you a global product.
2. you get the product at home, some sites do mention that if he product  received isn't the same you can return it to the same courier guy who can take it back and you can demand a refund or replacement.
3. you can pay COD cash on Delivery if you do not trust a new site

Cons:
1. buying apparels and shoes can be risky with the size as we have UK small and US small I am not sure what do I choose ... hey I am Indian ... do you have India S
2. Paying with credit cards is something not everyone is comfortable with
3. received product might not be the one that has been shown.

TIPS for Online Buyers:
------------------------------

1. Paying with credit / debit cards can be risky, check for COD or secure connection in the website meaning site shows https:// while you make payments.

2. For ebay consumer always check your sellers location and phone number is specified in the virtual shop and make sure you have 100 positive feedback about the seller from other buyers.

3. Check your product in front of the Delivery Guy and return if there is even slightest mistake.

4. Make sure you have the support info of the site like email support or callcenter info keep it handy.

5. Note when was your product supposed to be Delivered and save the date on phone or calender be pro active to inform the customer support if there is a delay in delivery.

6. Check out for EMI options and finance while purchasing electronic items so that the involved banks authorize the payment.

7. check for original bills/ guarantee and warranty slips for electronic goods.

A new phone cover every week

I recently bought the new Sony Xperia NEO and it one hell of a phone but I could not get great covers for my phone as its fairly new to the market and here in India it takes a lot of time when you get the covers that you actually-really want.... its not like Apple it has so amazing range of covers that I would buy an apple just for those lovely covers...

Any ho .. so I looked up in http://www.ebay.in and found just 2 colors available for phone Black and white, so I bought a new White silicon cover to protect my phones back but I wasn't happy as it looked so Lame and boring so I thought maybe i can try and paint my silicon cover..

I am not as artistic as I am creative kinds ... so as I know my drawings suck so I decided to go with water soluble based temporary colors which can be washed off.

Products used:
----------------
Camlin Black poster Color.
Fevicryl water soluble glass painting color Blue.

Poster color is applicable to glass and silicon base when you apply it from the bottel directly no medium to be used at all.

So just figure out your design and draw it with a pencil on the cover,(I used eyes coz I use my cam a lot so i made that cam lens cavity as eye lens in the drawing.)

Then outline it Using a the poster color.

Then complete your design.

And finally fill the eye pupils with the desired color .. I chose Blue glass color as its really attractive and stands out so here is the completed look.

Seriously I am not so happy with the way final outcome is, due to my poor drawing skills but I hope you can use the idea ... you can try marble painting or modern art drawing to enhance it a little more or try a cartoon like Flintstones or Tweety ....

let me know how it was in your comments down here.

thanks.

Changes in new society

I recently wrote this essay at work for the topic : Changes I would like to see in society in 2012 and won the best essay award .
posting here for my records.

Changes I would like to see in society in 2012

I would love to see the following changes in society from 2012.

1. Night shifts and Call centers:

With every major Software companies shifting to 24 x 7 job patterns we must accept that not everyone doing a night is in a call center job and if there are youngsters in call centers they should be treated as a regular jobs and not a low level or a temporary job, Call centers are a boon to Indian society giving employment to millions of people and raising the standard of living of Indian society

2. Alternate Careers Options :

Being doctors and engineers are not the only career options today, we have a variety to choose from Designers to event managements and photographers and when children want to pursue those the parents would support them and mentor their children to do what they love to do and career is boldly bright.

3. Law seeking Women :

Women who files for a divorce should not be outlawed or called character less, the reason varies from domestic violence of all types to mental harassment In a country of arrange marriages women have less choice is choosing their partner and if she is in a problem marriage then Divorce is her right and she should be given due respect as other women in society.

4. Friendship :

A girl and boy walking together can be buddies or just friends, a fun loving outgoing nature of a girl should be accepted and not be suppressed if she is a tomboy she should be accepted and respected that way, A girl can have her best friend as a guy but not DATE him. Also with the current sex ratio declining it’s the accepted fact that there are less girls as per boy ratio. So a girl and a boy may be best friends.

Our society has evolved from sati and girl child killings from orthodox and blind faith but we still possess traces of suppressed living which can be cleared by educating the masses, these problems can be overcome with a positive and broad thinking and I wish that happens in 2012

When I grow up …

When I was little I always told my momma that I wanted to be a dentist (I know its not what people always want but I used visit a lot of them and I was fascinated with their coats and those damsels looking so cute in them I wanted to be one of them)

When I was a little older I wanted to be a fashion designer as my Mum has done the course and I kept looking at her designs and patterns she stitched me a lot of clothes herself and I stitched myself some when I was in school.

When I grew up a little more I still wanted to be that but my Dad thought that it’s a profession where you need lot of capital investment and being typical Indians we concentrate more on a strong promising career rather than experimenting with creativity and new jobs like these and I am sure still people think these jobs aren’t permanent kinds.

So I chose Computer Science as my subject in collage and Graduated with CS as major subject, thanks to that I now have a firm promising and permanent job in leading MNC in India and great career options for future. I have a dream job with good package

But know when I think what I really wanted to be its non of those things. ?!?!?!?!

When I am 26 right now and I ponder of the decisions made in my life as far as my career is concerned it has been a Cakewalk for me, I am grateful to lord of this as people spend life struggling but cannot land into a good career.

I want to be a traveler and roam around the world, I want to see things do stuff, I wish I can quit my job yet keep getting money to travel.. I am not the weird one out there are many people who travel and just do that as a profession, the only way to travel and get paid for it is either photography (I suck in that) or blogging … I have read so many traveler blogs and I am so fascinated by the exquisite places and photos and food and people.

I wish there was a better way to travel and get paid for it and do that all my life.

From Social Butterfly to stupid Caterpillar

Hie people,
I know my blogging frequency have been tremendously decreased (if we had a graphical representation you could see a long dead plain line at the bottom) but that’s not cause I lost interest in it or something, I love blogging!!!!

I recently switched my workplace to another location (another whole new world !!!!) my old workplace has was burdened with Kgs of work piling on me everyday so we were like used to that environment like you work on an airport or a train station running around all the while Busy busy busy !!!, (I know I am using too many exclamation marks but cant help I am really like !!!!! :O) My new workplace is nice, very calm and not too much work,( I mean not like on an airport types) which also means it Super Boring

But its not the place or the work flow or the work culture which makes that place boring…. It’s the PEOPLE. As I have been observing here since past few days the people working in IT firms are a little dry, for example if there is a guy or a girl walking in the corridor (irrespective) and you pass a smile they would pop their eyes out to you and look at you until you pass and keep on thinkn if they ever knew you…. D a guys is there a restriction on the number of friends you can make?

Next example, you have people sitting next to you or behind you for weeks and months but neither you know their names nor see their faces simple because they don’t belong to your project and you have absolutely nothing to share or ask from them …..
Life was not like this in my old workplace people knew each other, cared about each other, I literally new everyone, not just my project even from the technical and Non technical projects, the average crowd in IT companies are between 28-40 these people have very less social life, and terrible sense or humor and I am scared that I might turn out like one or these, I can already spotted the changes in myself I have become quite a listener rather then the one blabbering all the time…. On my god Its the ‘Boring people Virus…’ God show me the way to stop this conversion ….

Diggers Den ..... H.E.L.P

I am a little frustrated as I write this post and because this is something about someone which has been troubling me for weeks and months over and over. It’s the Bad habits.

What thought come to your mind when you think of the word “Bad Habits”, my guess that that you imagine yourself to be four surrounded by some more people of your size and a Teacher who shows a color chart which shows you to greet people say thank you, table manners Blah ………. Blah …….. Blah!!!

But we think that as we grow up we learn all the manners and we throw every reminiscence of that chart from our memory we all think that we are all well behaved and polished men and ladies and certainly do not need the manners and bad habits chart …right ??? .. WRONG!!!!

In my office next to me sits a prominent nose digger (and he is certainly not four) he is married with a Kid so must be between 25-30 years. He has a habit of putting his finger in his nose every time he sits free/ thinks/ or does anything when he is not working on PC .. now I don’t have too much to do with this but his dirty hand is all over the place .. he shakes hand with people, drinks water from my bottle, touches my desk and sometimes tries to share food EEkkkkkSSSSSS !!!!! now I bet you can certainly know why I am so fuming

I tried a lot to educate him to stop that habit but I can’t as I think I would insult him .. Being a man he is and as far as I know men they can’t take piece of advice given by a girl .. (Especially about nose digging of all the stuff)

My dilemma here is how do I tackle this situation and get out of the diggers den… I feel very unhygienic about my surroundings and it gives me Goosebumps when I see him touching something that belongs to me.
God give me patience !!!

Princess Going Geek

After days and months I finally got an oppournity to blog …. Thanks to holidays… I wish everyone had a present and warm time with their folks and I am sorry for some unlucky people (like me) who worked in new year :) but remember folks if it wasn’t us working them others wouldn’t have enjoyed the free time so cheer up We saved the Day !!! (atleast it sounds good to me by saying that but I am still grumpy about the fact )

Holidays means gifts and while I waited and waited (and waited and cried) for Santa and hung my stalkings with a hope of getting an Iphone as gift it did not happen… looks like Santa does not like kids demanding Big Techie gifts or maybe he ran out of budget granting gifts to everyone so as every grown up does I gifted myself … (now I know there is no Santa !!!!)

I know what you guys must be thinking but it’s not a pink poodle or a diamond set or some girlie thing like that but NO” it’s a high tech PC”, I wish I can catch up that expression but, Yeah baby …. I upgraded my P4 good for nothing a piece of crap with a nice core 2 duo processor and 500 gigs HDD plus 4 Gigs Ram … not too good config but that’s more then what you need for a home PC (plus blogging :p) so that’s that and I am happily enjoying my Vista loaded there but personally Windows 7 is better just for the look and feel I will know more as I use I more

My plastic Bag

Today while travelling to office by train I noticed a female, she looked nice and well dressed and she was carrying large number of shopping bags... looking closely I could spot Globus, Shoppers stop, Central you name it, you get it ...

The women was proud of spending her money as she was the center for attraction of that time in the train, what I noticed that amongst the big packets there were even small packets for things like really did not need them, like there was a small packet for Globus and it was transparent green so there was just a bangle peeping out of it, also there was a small packet for Archie's gallery ... maybe she bought a greeting card and also a small packet for some thing else which was opaque so I could not understand what it was but it was some accessory ...

I know I know that its bad to peep in someone else's bags but what i was concerned about was that these things in the little bags did not actually needed bags, she could have just fused the things in the big bags

Instead of carrying 5 plastic bags with little things, it would have been better to carry a single bag with 5 things inside it. I never take bags for small things that can be carried along or just kept in your purse.
I understand that the plastic bags provided by the BIGG shops in the malls are really cool and stylish and its a great thing to carry them ... but they are plastic at the end of the day and as I read a hoarding in Mumbai CST

"It takes a second to create a plastic bag and 1 million years to decompose it "

Please give it a thought and think 10 times before take plastic bags for small and unnecessary stuff.

Hope my fellow shopaholics get that message

Daily NiDz

We have always been laughing and checking out the Daily Dilbert’s corporate cartoons and believe me it made no sense to me till I was in collage but now I find them more interesting then the other comic strips on the news paper, like talk about Archies, poofh …. I thinks its too kiddish or maybe because it just suits the teenagers there are some others like Peanuts, Spiderman … Booringgggg

Coming back to Daily Dilbert… generally they pull hard on their Bosses and topics are like “You know My boss is so Dumb”

Lately in office I have been behaving like Dilbert.. Not just the cribbing part, also making fun on the accent, tone, talking, walking of my boss, it not that I am so close to him its just that ….. I am seated very closed to his desk!!! Sounds funny right? It’s a nightmare …..

“So with great power comes great responsibility” courtesy Spiderman, Some weeks earlier I had to be shifted to a different team other them my own team and I am seated at a place where me immediate manager, his manager and his Senior manager sits… cool so it’s a place which is usually quite unlike the whole floor and its kinda a spotlight people come to know when you move, take breaks and come back, when your late to work, absent and stuff.

It is a bizarre feeling to be seated at one place all day and keep working; I bet no one would ever like it but also because you are so close to the management you have a good chance to put an impression on the bosses and make them actually believe that you work harder than the rest … every heard of the teacher’s pet

Also you can get a sneek peek to the managerial steps, like if the next step is an implementation to check the attendance of the team or adherence of the people to the shift timings I will make sure I follow that from that day itself, so its kinda safe when you know something is about to come up and you are well prepared for that.

So being a close sitter there I am like a news reporter who will tell everyone about the next big plan which will be in the shell, but also that observing these people day in and day out is a tedious job, plus I have to make sure that I am on time, in place, at desk and stuff.

So basically that made me like a Daily Dilbert, talking about my bosses all the time and having a good laugh at the cost of their expenses, also to be the first to realize how stupid can someone be when they try to implement plans ...
so here comes "Daily NiDz"

Swine flu... disease or threat

I woke up today with the noise of the noisy street, children playing …. Aahhhh…. I hope I could do something about it; I rubbed my eyes & saw it was 6 pm … ohhhh I had to take the public transport to reach my office today, I switched on the TV to the most entertaining channel these dayz, no its not MTV its IBN7, Live India, Star news … your one stop destination to all gossips… made up scandals… scoops .. and ghost stories.. And for fill-ups in between some real time news, yes you guessed it it’s the “NEWZ Channel”

The topic for today was rather interesting “Swine flu”

As we know there have been around 6 deaths reported throughout country affected with swine flu, and most of them from Maharashtra. Pune has contributed most of it in the epidemic no doubt that the schools and stadiums and common public places which can be closed are closed. The bulletin covered some facts as to how can you get a virus, how can you prevent it from occurring you and that the swine flu in early stages is actually curable.

Aren’t we just too scared !!!!!

=======================================================
After putting off the box, I rushed to the station to catch the 7:48 pm train and as I walked along the road I spotted some people covering their faces with handkerchiefs while walking, I tried smelling hard like a puppy to check if there was any odor, there was not…. I walked towards the station and spotted people on bench wearing surgical masks and some with hanky’s and scarf on their nose and mouth, then it clicked me that this was because people were horrified being attacked by Swine flu also as they have no other option but to use the masks, as there is no precautionary medicine available, no vaccine developed
It was not just that day I travelled my way back from office next morning and again to office next evening, people with masks are increasing in number, its good that we are well aware that there is a deadly virus in air and prevention is better than cure… but trust me when you watch these people you might get so scared… I was reminded or scary flicks like The happening, Resident Evil, I am Legend .. of course there is no Will Smith here to save the word … alas !!!

Face the fact:

========================================
· I am not a great researcher but from what I have read and heard on TV and read thru the PPT floating in my mailbox daily… swine flu virus does not travel in train and buses so relax guys and treat it just like any other cough and cold virus.. like its said if you are scared of snake and if a non –poisonous snake bites you will die of the fear.

· Second that swine flu is curable if you see the doctor in time so if you develop the disease just visit get yourself checked and proper medication will heal the virus, people have been cured and are now leading normal lives

· Indian government has imported medicines to cure people and the medicines are to such amount that they can support about 1 billion people effected, swine flu cases will continue to occur until next summer. So take a chill pill guyz and necessary precautions ofcourse
May god be with you and protect you J

PGDBA or MBA that is the question

Finally after spending 2 years in Job I have decided to pursue a distance or a part time MBA, the decision was easy but the implementation is damn tough.
I want to do MBA but that's not it, there are some questions that are still unanswered and I would really really be thankful to so one who helps me with these.
These are my findings and of-course they can be incorrect, make a note that I am talking about distance MBA here

Things to keep in mind when you pursue the MBA:

1. Make sure about what degree you want to pursue PGDBA or MBA, if you ask me the difference I did ask that many people and every one told me that they are the same with respect to the course and syllabus
PGDBA means Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and
MBA means Masters in Business Administration.
Which will clear you doubts here and how, PGBDA gives you a Diploma degree but a Post degree types which means if you have pursued BSC and then MSC you are a post graduate but if you have taken up BSC plus PGDBA you are still not a post graduate, you will still have to do MSC to complete your post graduation.
MBA gains a point here as discussed the name means a Masters degree so if you have done a BSC plus MBA you have done your masters degree and you will not have to do a MSC to get that into level

2. Second most important thing, just don’t do an MBA for the sake of doing it, make sure your university has proper affiliation
Now, that means the your university should be recognized as a valid and a proper guidance center, otherwise you might end up doing an expensive course which has no value in the market at the end, remember RAI University in Mumbai, it had the costliest courses and affiliation from some unknown place, people took educational loans from the university itself and all ended in a blunder when the university just closed, it not only took away the money but also some careers
So make sure the college has an affiliation from UGC which is University Grant Commission of India or some good university like the Pune University or Punjab University.
Note that Mumbai University also gives affiliation to collages for MBA but not for Distance MBA
3. The best place and the most valid degree of the Distance MBA can be perused through IGOU at New Delhi, which is Indra Gandhi Open University. It has training centers all over the world so that means you will not have to go to Delhi to pursue that.

Universities with a Twist:

• Wellinkar’s Insitute at Matunga
Nice learning and e-papers experience with the best in market guidance and cool campus.
TWIST: Gives you a PGDBA degree and is a DEEMED University so no affiliation

• DY Patil at Nerul, New Bombay
This gives you MBA with a lot of variety such as HR, BPO, Marketing etc
TWIST: This one is again a DEEMED university, DY Patil tried hard to gain reorganization form the Mumbai university but because it was based in Pune so then it made its own university as DY patil University and is still a Deemed university at the end

• ICFAI –
This is located in Ghatkoper in Mumbai, this institute offer you a MBA degree and from what I have heard you get a Dual MBA a well (Cute is doing her MBA from here)
TWIST: I am not sure but its recognized by some university in Allahabad or something, gotta dig into this

So what I found appropriate:

Symbiosis In Pune offers you a Part time MBA with a degree of PGDBA, the learning pattern is all e-learning, projects, presentations, and symbiosis has the most promising name in the industry today with PGDBA
IGOU- It’s a government and UGC recognized institute, has all India branches, really tough syllabus to pass through
IIM: IIM Ahmadabad will start distance learning courses shortly

Scoop’d up:

I would prefer not to go to the colleges that offer MBA degree from UK or other counties reorganization as they never got any reorganization from the India universities and has really less value in market same is the IIM in Kharghar who offers you an MBA program with a free laptop and stuff but its actually from Texas university
As mentioned above its entirely me and experience, you can comment and let me know if I have been wrong somewhere and I will correct it

Today I woke up at 3pm and tried browsing through some channels on TV when I landed up to the news channel, with regular news and the Australian racial attacks (it’s so sad really) and others I also spotted a section where Meira Kumar was felicitated as the first Indian lady speaker, that’s superb and if I remember correctly Mrs. Pratibha Patil is the first Lady president of India , these are the list of the firsts but we can say that today the most powerful women in India is Soniya Gandhi and we can truly say that she is liked by many Indian with the enormous margin of votes she won compared to BJP. Also the new Union Railway Minister is Mamta Banarjee,
Yeah …. Baby this is girl power, gone are the days when Indian ladies were kept under wraps and not given education, the former social workers and thinker will be so happy to see this day today. India has given the women an equal chance to grow and survive the competition be it IT Industry or Government.
I am so so glad that I was not born in Afghanistan as everyone knows about the life of women there, We have witnessed the brutal killings videos shown on the TV apart from that the women cannot even go out of their houses, they need to be accompanied by some one all the tim and thy need to give an explanation for every act. Check this http://www.un.org/events/women/2002/sit.htm ,
I am happy that I am an Indian , I belong again....

I belong ....

I did mention in my earlier post that I always wanted to study in the Australian university, but the idea sounds scary to me looking at the current racial attacks over Indian students in Australia, news channels says that these have always been there but the level and the frequency have increased now, to this many Indian students have rushed back to their Homes, some are packed in their houses ….

I was watching the news which showed the humiliating video of student being stamped and beaten by another person; this runs shivers through your spine, really bad. I have not been into the news so much and so I am still unknown to the reason behind this, the world is overwhelmed already with the terrorists and ‘Al Qaeda’ attacks, Please spare humans and not kill them because of their color and nationality.

The reason for writing this post is that I really admire Mr. Amitabh Bachan for denying the Doctorate title from the Queens University in Australia you can check out the letter from the head of that university send out to him here http://bigb.bigadda.com/?p=2682 , in my earlier post http://nidhi-ambitions.blogspot.com/2009/03/paid-to-think.html I said that Mr. Bachan is selling his thoughts and he has been paid to think but since them I have been quite a regular visitor to his blog and I can say that him declining the title from the university is a step that he has taken for the love of his country and fellow beings. He really belongs to India and Indians

H.E.L.P

I missed my cab to office today so I traveled by a bus and then a Rickshaw to office today, while getting down at Vashi station and paying the fare there were at least 3 beggar kids who pounced to my rick from all directions, before I could say or do something the rick driver shouted at them and they all stepped back, well that was not the end of the story, when I got down they followed me and started dragging and nagging and touching and begging, I reached to my wallet as gave one of them a coin, Kid 1 got a coin and flee from the place in no time, Kid 2 made faces and went after Kid 1, Kid 3 was a Melodrama queen, she started shouting and crying and stomping on ground, I was damn surprised and I have my mouth open in form of a full ‘O’, she layed down on ground and started rolling with her little dirty clothes, (of course I can see a kid or anyone like that) I reached to her and picked her up but she refused to be touched….
Of course that did create a scene for all the people around and the pedestrians, finally I picked her up, and dragged her to nearby fast-food staff and offered her a vadapav which made her quite and me relaxed.

The bottom line is never give money to the beggar children; why? It promotes them, and their parents send them so that they get good earnings as people pity on children as sympathize better then over an adult

In case you see a beggar child and you really want to give him or her something, buy something to eat and give them, anything like biscuits, chocolates, vadapav anything even old clothes, but do not give them money as this is going to ruin their career as permanent child beggars
Help Children to study not to work or beg, help India’s Future
