SMP4Bike Hybrid, a great mix of performance and value

The SelleSMP range of saddles is, without doubt, comfortable for many cyclists. You can read about the science behind the comfort and you can read about some of the medical conditions that can be addressed by switching to an SMP4Bike saddle.

For many long distance cyclists, the SMP4Bike Pro is the saddle of choice. However, for cyclists that spend a little less time on their bike or as a saddle for a second bike, the SMP4Bike Hybrid is a very popular choice and, at about £100 cheaper than the Pro version, its easier on the wallet should it need replacing - after a crash for example.

Made with Selle SMP's own SVT vacuum technology and fully padded with soft polyurethane foam, the Hybrid has all of the important design features that make SMP4Bike saddles so comfortable, is light enough - at 300 grammes - and, starting at just £59, is regarded as the optimum balance of quality, performance and price by many riders.

The SelleSMP SMP4Bike Pro is a popular saddle - the measurements are just right for many riders and the bike saddle is extremely comfortable in many positions. Testament to the comfort of the saddle is that Mark Beaumont, holder of the World Record for cycling round the world, rides one.

You can read all about Mark's incredible ride around the world in this very enjoyable book.

Remember that the Selle SMP SMP4Bike saddle range is designed to make cycling more comfortable. If you care about your prostate, penile numbness or other potential damage that could be caused by crushing your delicate bits when you are cycling, you should consider buying a saddle from the SMP4Bike range by SelleSMP today.

SelleSMP bicycle saddles introduction

The SMP4Bike range has common design features based on extensive scientific research into what makes sitting on a bike really comfortable.

Take 'The Beak' for instance: the nose of the saddle is designed to provide a flat base for efforts when sitting for long climbs and also for descents: enabling better thigh control of your bicycle.

Saddles with holes or cut outs are not uncommon. The SelleSMP SMP4Bike range has a channel that runs pretty much the full length of the saddle. This prevents crushing of the delicate parts of the anatomy in more seating positions than a simple 'hole' ever can.

Sitting on a Selle SMP SMP4Bike saddle feels different than many other saddles. Your weight is shared between the buttocks and the lower part of the pelvic bones (the ischial tuberosities). Again this stops crushing to delicate parts of your body, including the coccyx on uneven ground.

The saddle rails on Selle SMP SMP4bike saddles are long. This makes for easy installation in the optimum seating position on a wide range of frame / saddle pillars.

You can learn a lot more about the ergonomics of the SMP4Bike saddle and the science behind the saddles at the www.SMPSaddle.co.uk website.
