2017 – All’s Well That Ends Well

The Summer Shakespeare Trust are thrilled  that renowned Wellington theatre artist Peter Hambleton will direct the 2017 Victoria University Summer Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well, in Wellington’s Civic Square.

Tickets are now available at http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2017/alls-well-that-ends-well/wellington

EventFinda sales close off at 4.45pm each day.

Shakespeare’s rarely performed comedy tells the story of a love that is so strong it causes a young woman to risk everything for the chance of happiness.

Romance, Love, Lust and True Virtue are hilariously examined in a fiendishly clever plot with all the inventive wit we expect, seasoned with the warmth and wisdom of an older generation who watch anxiously from the sidelines.

image002Peter Hambleton is one of the country’s most accomplished actor/directors – specialising in Shakespeare. He featured in Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT movie trilogy as grumpy, redheaded Dwarf Gloin, directed the award-winning EQUIVOCATION at Circa, and is a SGCNZ Shakespeare’s Globe Fellow.

All’s Well That Ends Well will be excitingly staged in a corner of Wellington’s magnificent Civic Square – with lots of speedy action and laughs using bikes, skateboards and a madcap variety of anything and everything on wheels.

  1. Hello. I have today been trying to send in my application to audition (emailing the Stagemanager as requested a few times, and then Sally Thorburn), but my emails keep coming back with a failure to deliver notice. I would love it someone could let me know how to send in the application as the closing date is today. Thanks.

  3. Jo Matheson says:

Hi, I am really interested in knowing dates and times of performances. Have I missed this information on your site or is it too early to advertise this yet. Surely dates have been locked in already…Sorry but teacher planning for 2017 and would love to know. Cheers Jo

Hi Sally, can you contact me please? I’m keen to talk about an idea I’ve had. Thanks, Aileen

  5. Ellen Spear says:

This is an outdoor production, yes? We all know the weather hasn’t been good this year. How can we commit ourselves by buying a ticket ahead of time, only to have the weather cause either cancellation, or me to hide indoors?

    • Hi Ellen. The weather is in the lap of the Gods! If you book in advance it would be good to book for early in the season. In the event the show is cancelled due to rain, there will be a note on our website 3 hours prior. In that event, tickets can be used for another performance, or a refund can be issued by Eventfinda.

  6. Melanie says:

    Hi
Can you please advise if tonight’s show is going ahead? Thanks

    • Hi Melanie, after last night when the rain radar was completely incorrect, we aren’t taking a risk tonight – cancelled. I hope you have caught up with this from our website announcement. This will be placed 3 hours before any perfomance.
      See you another show! Sally

  7. Imogen says:

Hi, would you say this is suitable for a 9 year old kid? Thanks

  8. Alan says:

Hi, Is refund automatic for tickets to cancelled performance last night, or do I have to apply?

    • Hi Alan. We would love you to attend another performance using those same tickets. Or contact Eventfinda for a refund. The weather has come right and both shows are on today – 2.00 and 7.30. Actually it’s looking good for the rest of the season! Sally

  9. Gail says:

Hi! Is it worth bringing a sandchair along tonight or is there only grandstand seating? Thx.

  10. Dorothy Hislop says:
