Promoting Inclusive Communities.

Finding a house that feels like home can be difficult for anyone. For a person with physical disabilities and limited income, it can be even harder.

A Home In Community (AHIC) is a nonprofit organization that helps place people with disabilities in cohousing communities. The goal is to build strong community relationships among people of all abilities.

A Home at CoHo

In our first campaign, A Home at Coho, we purchased a unit in CoHo Ecovillage. AHIC maintains this unit and rents it at a subsidized rate to a qualified resident.

For the first time since I was diagnosed with MS thirty years ago, I’m living in a place where I know all of my neighbors care about me, and I care about them.
