Welcome to our site.

Based in Lancashire, UK, and working mainly in the North West, CGS offers training, facilitation and consultancy to public service and not for profit organisations around people and service delivery issues. We have a strong commitment to public services, and are passionate that people who use them get a quality experience. We understand that quality public services depend not just on policies and targets, but also on the ‘people processes’ on which service delivery depends – individual morale, motivation, the way people relate and communicate with each other etc.

We know that managers and front line staff have to balance day to day delivery of service and responding to change agendas.

We recognise that this presents challenges of:-
  • improving effectiveness and enhancing performance
  • working with uncertainty and frequent change
  • staying personally resilient and resourceful
  • working collaboratively, addressing difference, dealing with unhelpful dynamics
  • moving from service centred to client centred approaches

We have spent many years exploring models and approaches that help make sense of these challenges, and have developed a range of practical and accessible techniques and interventions that can be shared with managers, practitioners, and teams.

Rather than deliver ‘off the peg’ training, we tailor our response to the specific needs of the organisation, teams and individuals with whom we work. We aim to work with people in a way that makes a difference in the workplace.

We will only undertake work that we believe will help, and that we can deliver well.
