Forklift training is mandatory. We go to your Palm Beach Florida facility and provide forklift safety training.

If you have forklifts at your business in Palm Beach, your forklift operators must be trained and certified. OSHA clearly mandates that forklift training must be site specific and machine specific.

What does this mean to you? Well, you can’t do forklift training online. Why? Well how will the online presentation make it site specific and include the hazards of your workplace?

Forklift training must be machine specific, how can it know if your forklift has an attachment? How does it know if you have a negative lift?

OSHA standard 1910.178(l)(2)(ii) states “Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.”

How will the online service demonstrate and evaluate your operators and certify them in safe operation?

Offsite Training

Hate to burst your bubble but you can’t do this either. Again, forklift training must be site specific and you can’t do that unless you’re on location.

Training must be machine specific, so if you send your people out and they get trained on a counterbalance that won’t cut

it if you have a different classification of forktruck. There are seven different classifications of forklifts and you must be trained on the type in your facility.

Refresher Training

Refresher training, including an evaluation of the effectiveness of that training, shall be conducted as to ensure that the operator has the knowledge and skills needed to operate the powered industrial truck safely.

Refresher training is required every three years or when:

The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner;
The operator has been involved in an accident or near-miss incident;
The operator has received an evaluation that reveals that the operator is not operating the truck safely;
The operator is assigned to drive a different type of truck; or
A condition in the workplace changes in a manner that could affect safe operation of the truck.
