SLCL will participate in Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Stop by your local branch to receive a free comic book, while supplies last. We’ll have a selection of titles for all ages.

Coding 101 is a four-week workshop that teaches kids ages 10-14 basic programming skills. Upon graduation, students receive a Chromebook and a t-shirt. In order to be eligible to earn a free computer, participants must attend every class. Participants will be chosen by lottery. Entries accepted April 15-21.

St. Louis County Library is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Clark Family Branch, located at 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. in Ladue. The opening will occur in two phases. On June 1, the Post Event Space will open to the public at 1:00 p.m. for a ticketed event with Darius Rucker, of Hootie and the Blowfish and country music fame; he will discuss his new memoir, “Life’s Too Short.” On Tuesday, July 9, an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Clark Family Branch will be held at 9:00 a.m. and the entire branch will open to the public immediately following.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, submit your original poems for inclusion in the St. Louis County Library poetry compilation available in the eMedia collection of the Indie Author Project. Judges from Saint Louis Poetry Center will select their favorites to be highlighted in this year’s anthology.
