All studying in the New School, the Colin Bharat Quartet is a group of friends with a strong bond and a tight rhythmic feel. Colin Bharat on the alto saxophone and Ronan McKinnon on the bass provide a strong connection to the New York scene while also keeping the straight-ahead tradition alive in their playing. Argel Pimentel on the drums, from Atlanta, Georgia, keeps the time tight and flowing, which keeps that groove alive. Antonio Grande on the piano, from Spain, is our most important member who makes sure the harmony stays grounded and can play all his parts, especially with both hands independently.
