2011 & 2012: Two Years of Conservative Success
I am proud that during my term as Senate President, the Florida Senate passed historic, conservative reforms. We overcame seemingly insurmountable budget shortfalls to pass a balanced budget while holding the line on taxes and fees, and at the same time reforming our costly entitlement programs.
Defending the Innocent
I have track record of defending the innocent. I helped establish and secure funding for the Innocence Commission, and during my service to the state, I championed two claim bills. As a result, two men who were wrongfully incarcerated for more than 20 years, were provided compensation for the injustices they suffered.
