All Saints Todos Los Santos Familia/Family

Nuestro querido líder espiritual, Reverendo Rafael Pereira, ha tomado una licencia médica. Toda nuestra congregación está unida para apoyarlo a él y a su familia en este momento traumático. Todos valoramos mucho la comunidad que tenemos en All Saints Todos Los Santos y haremos todo lo posible para preservarla y mantenerla. Nuestros servicios semanales en inglés y español continuarán. Debido a la disponibilidad del clero, debemos trasladar el segundo servicio de 11:45 a. m. a 11:00 a. m. todos los domingos, a partir del 11 de febrero.

Our beloved spiritual leader, Reverend Rafael Pereira, has taken a medical leave of absence. Our entire congregation is united in supporting him and his family through this traumatic time. We all highly value the community we have at All Saints Todos Los Santos, and we will do everything we can to preserve and maintain it. Our weekly services in English and Spanish continue. Due to clergy availability, we must move the second service from 11:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. every Sunday, beginning February 11.

Events at All Saints
Patio Nights:  Saturday, May 18. Gates open at 6; music starts at 7.
Bible Study:  no study on the 19th
Pentecost:  Sunday, May 19: one Bilingual Service at 10 a.m., Ice Cream Social after Church:  Ice Cream will be provided. Bring your favorite ice cream topping to share
Book Study:  finishes the season this coming Tuesday the 21st, reading Pray Like a Gourmet; then taking two months off
Vestry Meeting:  May 28 at 6 p.m.
Prep for the Garage Sale on June 1st at 7 a.m. (Our Thrift Store is overflowing with donations.)
Garage Sale on June 8th, set up at 7, open the sale at 8 a.m.
We need volunteers to help with:
  • the preparation
  • the set up on June 8
  • running the sale
  • cleaning up after the sale.

Book Study:  every Tuesday at 12:30, reading Pray Like a Gourmet

Bible Study:  every Sunday, at 10:55 in Room 3, studying the Scripture readings from church that day (no Bible Study on May 5, 12, and 19)

Altar Guild:  Saturday, May 4 at 9:30 a.m.

Cinco de Mayo:  Sunday, May 5. The taco cart will be open after both services!

Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12:  Service in English at 9:30 a.m., Service in Spanish at 11 a.m., Cake in the Parish Hall

Are you registered to vote?  Have you moved recently? There will be a Voter Registration table  on May 12 after both services on the Courtyard. The next election is June 11.

Our Community – Nuestra comunidad

I would like to remind everyone that the church is not the rector or the priest in charge or any of the clergy or the bishop. The church is the people. The church is the community formed through love of one another and common purpose. The church is the relationships we form through tough and easy times.
Staying away will not bring Fr. Rafael back. Fr. Rafael chose to quit on his own. No one at All Saints asked him to leave. The leadership has done all that is possible to leave the door open for his return if and when he chooses but he is the only one that can make that decision. It is all our hope that when he has had time away to heal from his physical and spiritual pain, he will return to lead us.
In the meantime it is up to all of us to keep the community whole and growing. We need to be faithful to the vision of a single multicultural community that celebrates and grows together. In this way there will be a community waiting if Rafael decides to return.

Me gustaría recordarles a todos que la iglesia no es el rector ni el sacerdote a cargo, ni ninguno de los clérigos ni el obispo. La iglesia es el pueblo. El curch es la comunidad formada por el amor mutuo y el propósito común. La iglesia son las relaciones que formamos a través de tiempos difíciles y fáciles.
Mantenerse alejado no traerá al Fr. Rafael de vuelta. Fr. Rafael decidió renunciar por su cuenta. Nadie en All Saints le pidió que se fuera. El liderazgo ha hecho todo lo posible para dejar la puerta abierta para su regreso si y cuando lo desea, pero él es el único que puede tomar esa decisión. Esperamos que cuando haya tenido tiempo de curarse de su dolor físico y espiritual, vuelva a guiarnos.
Mientras tanto, depende de todos nosotros mantener a la comunidad entera y en crecimiento. Tenemos que ser fieles a la visión de una sola comunidad multicultural que celebre y crezca juntos. De esta manera, habrá una comunidad esperando si Rafael decide regresar.
