Welcome to Alex Laidlaw Co-op

We are a community of 36 units comprised of singles, couples, and families. We are located on the West side of Booth Street between Primrose and Albert.

Located very close to Ottawa downtown and River Parkway Transit way, a few minutes away from jogging and biking paths along the Ottawa River. Close to market, where there are many interesting grocery shops, pharmacies and restaurants.

Our Co-op is named after Dr. Alex Laidlaw, an internationally renowned Canadian cooperative movement leader and the founder of the school of cooperative notion called “The Cooperative Sector”. Today, we are proud for having the tradition of self-helped, self-served democratic operation to continue in the framework of the theory of Cooperative Sector and by our firm practical adherence to the “Cooperative Principles” that assures our memberships’ democratic control over our operation.
