So many want to stop but cannot.

There is a solution.

Millions have solved the drink problem by following suggestions outlined in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Attending a meeting is a great first step.

You are going to meet new friends in your own community. Near you, alcoholics are dying helplessly like people in a sinking ship. If you live in a large place, there are hundreds. High and low, rich and poor, these are future fellows of Alcoholics Anonymous. Among them you will make lifelong friends. You will be bound to them with new and wonderful ties, for you will escape disaster together and you will commence shoulder to shoulder your common journey.

Please be sure to contact the Intergroup Office with any meeting changes. This includes:

  • Meetings being discontinued (in-person or virtual)
  • Meeting time being changed
  • Meeting location being changed
  • Meetings changed to hybrid meeting (in-person or zoom)
  • Virtual meeting ID or passcode changes

Intergroup wants to help you keep your meeting details as current as possible. The best way to do this is to have your Intergroup Representative email the Intergroup office at pbciaa@bellsouth.net with your updated meeting information. Please be sure to provide the information requested on the Group Change Form, found here if you click this link.

If your group does not have an Intergroup Representative, consider the position for yourself! It is a wonderful way to be of service, as each group deserves to have a voice in how Intergroup is run. It is also a great way to meet new people in sobriety. Representatives are generally elected by their group at the group’s business meeting. Once elected, come to the Intergroup Business Meeting on the second Wednesday of the month. The meeting starts at 6:15 p.m. and typically lasts less than an hour.

Looking for South County? South Palm Beach County Intergroup serves Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Lantana. Click here to go to their website and find meetings in those areas.

Looking for District 8? Straight from their website, “District 8 carries the collective conscious for the groups meeting in Palm Beach County Florida into the General Service structure of Alcoholics Anonymous.” District 8 covers both Palm Beach County Intergroup and South Palm Beach County Intergroup. There are 18 areas (12 areas and 6 clubs) within District 8. Area 15 also posts communication on the District 8 website, located at https://district8area15aa.org.

Have you joined the Birthday Club?

Send in one dollar for every year of sobriety, and on your A.A. birthday Palm Beach County Intergroup will send you a special Bill and Bob anniversary coin. Of course, you are free to send in more, and if you can, what a wonderful way to support Intergroup. (With today’s prices, it is amazing that they can still do this for only $1 per year of sobriety!)

As a member of the Birthday Club, your name will be printed in the Today newsletter in the month of your anniversary. Send your donation via Zelle or mail a check to Intergroup. Remember to do this each year to keep getting your special anniversary coin. Click here for further instructions.

Having been dubbed, “A.A.’s Meeting in Print,” the Grapevine is a great resource to have on hand for getting through a rough spot in sobriety. With a different theme every month, this International Journal of Alcoholics Anonymous has something for everyone. Click here to go to aagrapevine.org to check it out.

I can watch my serenity level rise when I discard my expectations. But then my “rights” try to move in, and they too can force my serenity level down. I have to discard my “rights,” as well as my expectations, by asking myself, How important is it, really? How important is it compared to my serenity, my emotional sobriety? And when I place more value on my serenity and sobriety than on anything else, I can maintain them at a higher level – at least for the time being.

Did you know you can read, watch or listen to the Big Book online? These resources are located at aa.org. Clicking this link will take you to the right page. Once there, scroll down and you’ll see three tabs – Read, Watch, or Listen.

When it comes to buying your literature, cards and medallions, please support your local Intergroup and purchase these items whenever you can, directly from Intergroup. All items are competitively and fairly priced. Best of all, supporting Intergroup supports local A.A.

We understand the attraction of simplicity and ordering online, however, supporting local groups, is simply more attractive. So until we get an online store set up, head on down and say Hi to the friendly folks at Intergroup. You will be glad you did!
