Ed or anyone in the know, have we got a global scouting network or was the lads from Japan mainly on the back of Ange knowing the market? Do they use scouting agents or actively scout abroad with their own staff?
The quality of hetate and kyogo makes me baffled that we haven't further invested in that market, ideguchi and yogi didn't work I know but maeda has defintely passed the mark, iwata is decent and will get better.
Matsuki FC Tokyo CM looks like he has a bright future, Assists and distance covered very encouraging so far.

Ed002, can you elaborate on what involvement Joe Dudgeon had in those transfers because the accepted narrative up here is pretty much that Ange pinpointed Kyogo, Maeda, Ideguchi, Hatate and Iwata himself. Kobayashi, not so much.

It is his hamstring.
If it is a grade 2 or 3 tear, then I can't see him playing again this season. If it is a grade 1 then hopefully be back for Sevco match.

Maeda missed training,
Calmac played half the training session.
But Palma played a Full Training Session.

Although Joe Hart has his critics, he will be one of the hardest players we have had to replace in a long time.
His experience and ability has allowed us to keep possession, playing with the ball on the deck from back to front since he arrived and I know some of the penalty box passing can give you the fear at times, but you just had to look at Butland last weekend with the ball at his feet to appreciate what we have.

Couldn't agree more OAB. Joe hart has been huge since the winter break. Guy has pulled off some massive saves in games we could've easily dropped more points. He has his moments and I still think we should've got a keeper in the summer but he's been great over the best few years for our club.

You were right Ed about starting Iwata.
I’m delighted that Calmac has made our bench.
We now have 4 guys on the bench today, that came through our youths many years ago and know what it’s all about if needed.
If Calmac does come on in the 2nd half, it will be further up the park because Brendan won’t risk bringing Calmac on for Iwata with 30 minutes to go, for him to pull up injured shortly after.
Then we are screwed in that crucial position.
At least he can easily be replaced with Bernardo ETC, if he replaces Hatate in the 2nd half further up the park.
I fancy 2-1 Celtic and Kyogo to get his usual goal against them.

Unfortunate CalMac has not made starting 11. (He will be missed) .
However, strong and positive line up.
Sevco players will go out and target some of our players at certain points in game. Kyogo and probably Taylor.
We need to be street wise. c'mon the hoops.

Hate to be all doom and gloom like I have been all week but like I've said before, I just can't see how we win with everything that has happened over the last month.
I really hope I'm wrong but it's going to be a really long Spring/ Summer.
