Essex County Rabbit and Cavy Breeders

What is the ECRCBA?

The Essex County Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association (ECRCBA) is an association of Breeders of Rabbit and Guinea Pigs (A Cavy is a Guinea Pig!).

We manage the Rabbit Barn at the Topsfield Fairgrounds, providing a display of many breeds of Rabbits during the Topsfield Fair. We also have Rabbits for sales during the fair.

As a Club Chartered by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, we operate three Rabbit Shows during the Year. One in May (a double show). Our "Midnight Madness" show in August and a show that coincides with the Topsfield Fair.

We have meetings once a month, on the second Thursday of the month at 7:30pm. From May through October these meetings take place at the Rabbit Barn at the Topsfield Fairgrounds. The rest of the year the meetings are held at the Bee Building on the grounds.

A Cavy is a Guinea Pig!

The ECRCBA operates the "Rabbit and Cavy" Barn at the Topsfield Fairgrounds. During the Fair (early October) the Barn is open to the public as part of the Topsfield Fair. One of the questions we are frequently asked during the fair is "What is a Cavy." Well, a Cavy is a Guinea Pig. This is based on its scientific name of "Cavia Porcellus." In the up coming months we will start publishing useful information on both Rabbit and Cavy care. You can also find a significant amount of information on the Internet. One particularly good resource for Cavy care information is available at Guinea Lynx. Enjoy.
