Georgia Funeral Directors Association (GFDA) offers information for both funeral service professionals and the families they serve. We encourage high standards of excellence and ethical practices and provides vital information to our members and the public. GFDA strives to provide our members with the toolset to motivate, educate, and ultimately elevate our beloved profession.

Funeral Service Professionals

Membership GFDA Members are a part of an active, well-known association that protects and promotes the interests of funeral service and its members. For over 100 years, we have promoted excellence in funeral service by providing great services and education to help you and your business. GFDA Members have access to valuable resources and training to assist in serving their communities, tools for their business needs, discounted event pricing where they can earn the required Continuing Education for their license, and more. GFDA is the only NFDA State Affiliated Association in Georgia.

Education & Training GFDA offers events and webinars at various times throughout each year to provide Continuing Education and training for funeral service professionals.  Each event or webinar features presentations on topics that are timely and highly informative. The majority of our programs are approved for Continuing Education (CE) credit. All funeral service professionals are welcome.  GFDA Members receive discounted pricing.

Call for Presentations Do you have a program or presentation designed to help funeral directors serve their families and run their business? Answer our Call for Presentations. The GFDA Executive Committee is accepting presentation submissions for the 2024-2025 calendar.

Family and Loved Ones

Georgia Funeral Directors Association (GFDA) has resources available for you to help you gain an understanding of the funeral process, to help families plan in advance, and deal with the closure of significant relationships in their lives.

If you have a complaint against a funeral director or a funeral establishment, we encourage you to discuss the issue with the funeral director and/or management of the funeral establishment. If this is not acceptable, contact the Georgia State Board of Funeral Service which administers the Funeral Service Law.

The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service administers the Funeral Service Law for the purpose of better protection of life and health, preventing the spread of contagious, communicable, and infectious diseases, and regulating the practice of embalming and funeral directing, and the care and disposition of dead human bodies.  Visit HERE for more information, including licensure, complaints, and how to contact their office.
