About Us

We are a multi-faceted transportation engineering firm located in Pierce County, Washington. Heath & Associates, founded by Greg Heath in 1989, has provided transportation planning services to the local community and surrounding region for over 30 years. We work with small businesses, developers and communities to provide traffic management and civil engineering services across a wide range of projects, including neighborhoods, commercial centers, schools, parks, medical centers and spiritual centers. We have an exceptional technical support team to handle a diverse range of transportation related projects.

Our Team

Aaron Van Aken, P.E., PTOE, MBA is a graduate of the University of Washington with 10 years of private consulting experience with Heath & Associates.

Margaret Norris is the front line of the company and has been with us for over 25 years routing projects into the right hands for completion.

Peyton Whalen has graduated with a Master’s in Sustainable Transportation from the University of Washington and has been working for our firm as a Transportation Planner for 5 years.

Lucas Maulin is a graduate of Washington State University with a BA in Civil Engineering and has been acting a as a Transportation Planner for our firm since April 2021.

Hunter Lantz, a graduate from Western Washington University, assists our team as a Traffic Technician.

Kyle Young, P.E., started working for Heath & Associates in 2001 as a data collector. He started full-time after graduating from the University of Washington in 2007. He also has three years of experience in the public sector with the City of Puyallup.


Projects

Village at Maple Valley – City of Maple Valley in King County, Washington – a mixed use-development comprising over 30,000 square feet of commercial and 200 residential dwelling units.

Champions Centre – City of Dupont in Pierce County, Washington – 25,000 square foot church and 3,000 commercial space.

Canyon Point Industrial – Unincorporated Pierce County, Washington – Traffic Impact Analysis for ~600,000 square feet of industrial development which included a queuing analysis and intersection modeling.

The Gorge at George – Grant County, Washington – A circulation and signage plan was drawn up to help concert goers find their way in and out of the venue. Report updated reflecting enhanced services provided at venue.

Twin Harbors State Park – Grays Harbor County, Washington – Park reconfiguration and expansion to accommodate more more campsites and ammenities.

School Districts of Franklin Pierce, Tacoma, Puyallup, Federal Way, Steilacoom, and more – Puget Sound Region – Provided traffic impact analyses (which included queuing analyses) for new and redeveloped schools.

Cascade Creek – City of Sandy in Clackamas County, Oregon ‐ Provided the traffic impact analysis and trip generation for a new mixed-use development.
