Armany Leger was born in Acadia Parish April 13, 1910. He was descended from a long line of Legers that can be traced back to France in the 1600s.

Armany was the fifth Leger generation to be born in Louisiana. He worked as a tenant farmer, and auxiliary policeman.

Nida Broussard was born on March 23, 1904 in Youngsville, La. She was descended from a long line of Broussards that can also be traced back to France. She was the fifth generation born in Louisiana.

Armany and Nida married November 23, 1929 in Duson, La. They lived in Acadia Parish for many years until Armany's death on April 15, 1953. After Armany's death, Nida moved to Lafayette Parish, where she lived until her death on March 25, 1996.

Together they had 12 children.  Nine of which survived to adulthood.  They had 34 Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grand Children and Great Great Grand Children who live throughout Louisiana, Texas, California, Georgia.

Armany, Nida and three of their daughters are buried in the St Teresa Cemetery in Duson, La. along with his parents, Robert Leger and Marie Lavergne.
