Are you here now? If not here, then where? Staying present in the moment can sometimes be a challenge. Hello!
Over the span of several decades of involvement in this industry, and this organization, one thing I've learned to count on: Change is constant. Like navigating the waves in the Pacific, you learn to ride the good ones when you can.
MVCA has for years had the benefit of support of one local carrier who has consistently had as many as eight to ten staff members attend luncheon events. Following some restructuring, this company no longer has the numbers in the local Claims department they did before. Change happens.
Over this time, the MVCA Board has tailored events in a big way to entice these members to continue supporting the organization. And for years they have. We have nothing but gratitude for all their support. And, to be clear, they have maintained a corporate membership, which has already been renewed for 2024.
Yet, it's clear we won't be seeing so much of their regular attendance. One might say the bear has gone into hybernation.
In that light, your MVCA Board is reviewing our programing moving forward. We have some great events in store. And, we are looking at making the luncheons possibly a quarterly feature.
This shift will make aligning our efforts with our sister associations, Sacramento and East Bay Claims, more streamline and cohesive. More on this to follow.
MVCA had a temendous speaker at our February 15 luncheon. Huge thanks to local law professor, Gregg Meath, for sharing his depth of knowledge, and engaging speaking style. Despite insurance claims not being his primary focus, Professor Meath delivered some invaluable insight and information on Bad Faith claims. We will be posting his slideshow deck, as he granted permission for us to do so.
Most immediately, your Mid-Valley Claims Board is working diligently to finalize details for our March 28, 2024 Membership Mixer. Plans are to return to the very popular M2 winery in Acampo - site of our very well attended 2023 event. We'll have pricing options and links posted soon. Please stay tuned for that.
